Event in Tokyo
There's a festival in Tokyo on the 27th called the Ramen Show.

"Tokyo Ramen Show is one of Japan’s largest outdoor events dedicated to ramen noodles. It presents, in one big location, various types of the dish, from the highlight each year, gotochi ramen representing the different regions of Japan, to collaborative bowls of ramen served only here. The event is organized annually since 2009 to promote tourism and food education through ramen, and support regional food cultures. Every region of Japan has its own distinct gotochi ramen. Some are long established and others, particularly recently, use local ingredients to revitalize the community. Tokyo Ramen Show makes efforts to boost tourism in these regions, along with their unique variation of ramen."



Ramen
Technically a soup, it is traditionally made with beef or fish stock base and wheat noodles. It has become such a huge part of Japanese culture that there is even a Museum in Yokohama dedicated to it.


You can see everything from how they made the noodles up to the instant ramen noodles that have mainstreamed today, and have some ramen too. ^-^
