Here we are for yet another BestPCP Best Quiz, the number one quiz in the eUK right now! Last episode we had a fantastic Spot the Difference competition. Quite possibly, the hardest BestPCP Best Quiz in our history!
As promised, a special prize went out to the wittiest comment, which was none other than BestPCP's Best Commie, Zaphod, otherwise known as Zaphod and those from way back may even remember him as Tortea (yes Keith, really) with this little gem!
It's funny, because it's true!
His prize was something like 30k cc or something and some tanks... It definitely wasn't because I'm a nice guy and a fellow player was in need. Consider it your prize for being awesome, Zaph. Honourable mention has to go to MWC, who has risen from the eGrave lately (bruh, if you need tanks and money, I need votes, ya get me, wink, wink) and produced the most voted comment of the episode!

Hitler didn’t connect with the working man, the working class was the only social group that hated fascism. It was loved by the elites, and the middle class but not the working class.
The average German loved Hitler. You don't get to do what he did without the general backing of the population. I imagine with hindsight, things appear differently, but at the time, the average man did indeed like him.
The average person did love Hitler. Women, the middle class loved Hitler because of his image and personality but I believe that the working class and Socialist groups were pretty closely linked. I don’t have evidence for that other than my memory of lectures but i can only think of the amount of arrests that were made by citizens that back zaps argument. I should have paid more attention it seems, didn’t think this stuff would be useful.
Dude, seriously. He was loved to begin with. Yes some sections would have been unhappy, you won't please all the people all the time. But overall he was liked by the German people. Of course his actions later on greatly diminished that goodwill, but to deny his popularity early on is an attempt to rewrite history. Which is something to avoid at all costs. If your view of history is clouded by ideology, you'll be doomed to repeat such mistakes and another charismatic guy with great speaking skills will once again take advantage.
Calm it down big boy, I’m not being ideological. There are two types of argument, historical (which in this comment have shown) atleast attempt to use evidence to back a version of history that I was taught by someone outside of my ideological framework (probably a liberal I think), and ideological which is what I defend when you make sweeping accusations about the philosophy of things. I’m not a robot, I can have more than one bias haha.

Decided to just go with the easiest option (also I think someone else enjoys overlapping communist and fascist ideas, for the un-enquiring mind) of declaring they're all the same person after Googling "Smeriest Quote", because is that even a word. Also the quotes you are referring to are from ‘On the Jewish Question’ by Marx which critiques a political argument by Bauer, through the use of philosophical reasoning. Much like Zimbabwe’s hatred for white people, you need to take the argument to its context at the time. If you want the context I can give it you, but I doubt this is anything but ‘got ya’ journalism and so has no attempt at educating anyone at all. I could have written an entire article debunking Marx’s anti-semitism but I would rather write it here and get my chance of winning the jackpot.

Along those lines everything is justified, the context is just the reasons why someone or an idea is supported. If you transplant todays educated populace into Germany in the 30s and 40s you'll get a different result, Hitler struck a cord because of context. Todays socialism/communism is the same, the context is 'someone somewhere has more than me, that sux' and 'I like ideas about people more than I like actual people' when you put the mad man into context, it's all quite reasonable...
Well you ideas about what I justify are projected rather than my own opinions, I can’t justify anything (as you say I give reasons for things happening). I can’t justify that the guy who invented German concentration camps did it to save space in prisons, nor can I justify that Stalin stole grain from the middle class to give it to the starving soviet populace.
I can’t say what would happen if we transplanted modern populace because sociologically it is impossible as we are built on a culture of learning from the lessons of the past (I.e. we are liberal because we are taught that fascism and socialism are wrong). Also I refuse your last sentence based purely on the fact that it is purely ideological and doesn’t have any substance.

The first three are Karl Marx but there appears to be some confusion over the fourth. It appears to be (and probably is a quote from a letter by Baruch Levy to Karl Marx ('La Revue de Paris', p.574, 1 June 1 192😎 but is often ascribed as being the other way round.
