[Diplomacy] Small steps into getting stronger

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea had the heaviest job during the last month as it had to solve a very delicate and complicated problem: the re-establishing of Trade Routes between the capital and the rest of the country.

The course of negotiations was described here in this article and 3 days ago the plan has finally reached his final stage. The capital was moved to Gangwon-do and Jeju came back in South Korea as a result of a Resistance War.



Indeed, out of 9 regions we are in the possession of only 4, but the great achievement is that we can have full use of the most important bonuses in the game: 25% grain and 25% iron. These resources will remain also the most valuable ones in the next economic module.



The negotiations with China and Taiwan were extremely hard as neither side would want to lose advantages and sometimes force had been used (in the case of the 2 RWs started in China). However, in the end trough a combination of swaps everything turned out good and economy came back to its normal path.



Even if primary, this was not the only concern MoFA department had in its agenda: the relations with Eden alliance have strengthen a lot by renewing the MPPs with Bulgaria, Greece and Romania and by participating in some fighting mission together with Eden. South Korea has been neutral in his history and persued this status in the past. Still, the reality of today shows that this is not a viable solution anymore. If we take a quick look at all the small nations in Asia with similar population with South Korea will notice that: Philipines is erased by Indonesia, North Korea is off the map due to being PTOed by ONE, Thailand is erased, Singapore and Malaysia have only a few regions, Pakistan and India are not great either, while Australia is erased again by Indonesia.

Therefore is important to have strong allies, to support them when in need and to receive support if the case. These relations are built in time and right now South Korea is no longer regarded as a 3rd class country, but as a ally and an important player in the region.



The relations with Taiwan have extended as both nations managed to keep under control the training war between them for more than 2 months now. Also, the joined armies of Taiwan and South Korea managed to fulfill a few missions outside their borders. South Korea is one of the few countries in E-Republik having constant and continuous Natural Enemy in the past 3 months.


Relations with Japan remained cold as many people from across the sea had wet dreams about owning South Korea. Faithful to the last peace treaty signed, South Korea did not interfered in any way into Japan internal matters.

Long story short:
1. Solved the trade route problem by changing the capital
2. Improved relations with Eden countries
3. Extended cooperation with Taiwan
4. Cold relations with Japan
