[CP] Day 2,605 - First Address

Day 2,605, 04:57 Published in Ireland South Korea by An Sluagh

Citizens of the Republic

Thank you very much to everyone who voted for me on the 5th, I will do my best to serve our my manifesto and achieve what I promised. I would also like to thank my competitors for a clean election. Now lets get down to business.

[Impeachment]

Within three hours of being elected, I had my first impeachment proposal. Fortunately it didn't/won't pass. Without any discussion, with no new reasoning it was proposed. Due to it's failure I am now secured for the next 7 days in office. Brilliant. It should be plenty of time to put my critics at bay.

[Babyboom]

I have asked Winston Hope Smith if he could email BeanandTeddy about getting a current active player admin access to our Facebook page - eRepublik Ireland. We have emailed a few online news websites but have had no response. For this reason I am going to press ahead with advertising on Facebook. It is the eRepublik Ireland page I wish to use to front this advertisement campaign. I only intend to give BeanandTeddy a week to reply before setting up a new page. In the meantime, I'd recommend everyone to "Like" the page.

[Foreign Affairs]

Within my first day I have received messages from the following countries expressing interest in friendship and continued relations:

Spain
Chile
Canada
Ukraine
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Macedonia

My Minister of Foreign Affairs, Soy Moris, sent out our greetings and congratulations to all new governments of our allies last night. We have also singled out three countries to sign MPP's with this term. These will be brought to the Dáil 24 hours before proposal for discussion should any be needed.

[Airstrike]

Our airstrike on Brazil failed. Not much was lost as no expense came from our Reserves. Of the 66'000 of the initial cost, a reasonable quantity came from private donations. However this campaign was not about the cost but instead a show of solidarity with our Chilean and Paraguayan brothers.

As I have said on previous conflicts, somebody has to lose a war.

[Referendum Commission]

I plan to message all Party Presidents of a party greater than 10 members to ask for their party representatives to the Referendum Commission. The task of this Commission is to establish a procedure for the State to follow on Referendums and Emergency Referendums when they arise. They will also be tasked with drawing up the conditions under which a referendum should take place. Their draft of these methods and requirements will then be submitted to the Dáil who will either pass or reject the draft.

[Irish Army Commander]

I stated in my manifesto that I wanted to breathe fresh life into the Irish Army. For this reason I am looking for a new Commander. Any citizen from any Military Unit can apply. Just message myself your interest and I along with my Ministry of Defense team will get back to you with questions about why you should be appointed and of your past experience.

I don't have much else to say for now.

Éire Abú,
An Taoiseach
