[CP] - August - Time for a Competition?

Day 2,108, 13:41 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

Hello all,

Today I come to tell you that the eUK MU competition will be starting (as long as I wake up early!) tomorrow morning.

The aim of the competition/league will just be to encourage some friendly competition between MUs. I do not want people tanking like they did in the admins competition, we need to save our damage for the future, not right now! Ideally this will make people want to use their FF more on fighting effectively, try and make people more active (we can all dream) and make sure you don’t waste energy by sleeping too long or having too much fun IRL.

As well as making people fight and be more active it is also an educational tool. Yay - education! Your damage will only count towards the competition if you fight in a) the correct battle and b) a battle where the wall is under 53%

I received a few worried PMs from people when I first announced this was coming that the competition would be bias to the bigger MUs, to the smaller MUs, to tanking MUs. That I would be using stat sites which will lose data or that their MU won't be tracked tracked.

Fear not! I shall clear everything up. Due to the method I will be using to track information not every MU will be involved. I have taken the more serious MUs of the eUK to be involved in the first round of this, if this is a success, more can be rolled out if they want to be involved (Pretty much all are involved anyway).

The competing MUs will be: (List pulled directly from eGov using the weekly damage stats)

The Legion
British Army
Royal Army Dental Corps
TUP Family
Funky Militia
Woldy's Warriors
People's Army
Royal Navy
Paratroopers
Red Coats
Liberty UK
Radical Defence Force
Royal Marines

How will data be tracked?

Quite simple really - MUs will be given Combat Orders at least once a day - Fight in the right place, when the wall is under the right percentage, get money from the combat order. You have a certain amount in the bank, drain it all and you win!

The money given will be completely arbitrary. This cash is not supposed to entice you to fight. The whole point in the competition is to drain the amount of cash your MU (in your division) has been given. Put simply, the first MU to use all of the cash on their CO wins this round.

Again, the value you get for fighting will be very low, this is not the prize, this is simply a tracking method. It is a way of ensuring the damage is using at the right time at the right place, it is not a pay to fight set up

Prizes will be released after every round

How can I make this fair?

Well - I can not ensure this, I can simply do my best. I will be attempting to use a point scoring system.

The first MU to drain their whole Combat Order (Or have the most of it drained when I end the round) win 15 points. The second claims a total of 13 points etc (see below).

1- 15, 2- 13, 3 -11, 4 -9, 5-8, 6-7, 7-6, 8-5, 9-4, 10-3, 11- 2, 12- 1

The highest hitters will always get 15 points you shout! Well, there is a bit of restriction. Combat orders are set by division. There is actually 5 times the points on offer. The first Div 4 (all Div 4 MU points for all positions are doubled) MU will get two times the above points. The winning MU in Div 1,2 and 3 will get one times the above points.

An MU will then have their points added up to obtain a score.

A league table will then be produced at the end of the round so all MUs can see how they did.

There is one last scale to tell you about!

In an attempt to make this as fair as possible the amount of cash in the pot for each MU and each division will be dependant on their past damage. I will scale all eUK damage and ensure the amount in your combat orders is reflective of the typical damage you do. This competition is to encourage an MU to improve themselves on normal so you are not only competing against others, but also yourself.

As a simple example - if MU A’s Division 1 does 10,000 damage a day and MU B’s Div 1 does 20,000 damage a day the amount of cash in the Combat order for MU B will be double that of MU A.

The first combat order will be up tomorrow morning (as I said earlier, as long as I wake up 😃).

This is just a bit of a test, it could work well, it might not, we will see.

I hope it all pans out as planned!

Cheers,

Carlini
