[CP] - August - GO GO GO, Take Two

Day 2,109, 12:06 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

If Trott messes up, she fixes it by breaking a world record

Hi all,

Ok… Yes… That competition didn’t go so well. I was all excited about it and didn’t even think to check that what I actually wanted to do could be done. Sadly my last plan is restricted by ingame mechanics and just can’t be done.

It would need 12 different people, in 12 different MUs to co-ordinate at exactly the same time to ensure that we were fair to all MUs.

Anyway, when I ran, I promise a competition / league, so a competition / league is what you shall get!

I have spent quite a bit of time since this mornings fail thinking about how I can do this as fairly as possible. The truth is, I just can’t make it as fair as it was going to be, it was going to be great!

I am going to stick to a points basis. This time, your MU will get scored on four different aspects. Total Damage, Average Damage per Member, % Active and amount of BHs in the MoD orders battles.

Total Damage and Average damage will be split into divisions so there are four sets of points up for grabs. In both of them, the amount of points up for grabs for division 4 is double that of divisions 1 and 2. Division three gets 1.5 times the points of division 1 and 2.

Please see the below points table to see how the points will be dished out. Position 1 - 12 is effectively the position the MU comes in the “event” you are trying to find out the points for.

I will be tracking the stats with eGov. I favour Muse but some people have complained of it’s reliability lately. Any stress tests I used on peoples complains just brought me to the conclusion that both were working the same just on different schedules as numbers when added together were nearly always the same. I will be monitoring the two to see if there is any difference. The best thing about Muse is that all information can be pulled directly into a gdoc. That way this system could almost be completely automated which in my experience would mean that future CPs/MoDs would be likely to continue it if it was a success. Hard work often puts people off so we will see how it goes.

Please remember that rockets etc will not be counted for this. Muse and eGov both work by tracking your rank points, anything that doesn’t change those, will not be seen in this competition.

I have attempted to make this competition as fair as I can for all MUs. Obviously without actually trying it it will be hard to determine. All points are subject to change, anything that can make it fairer. If you have any suggestions, please message me and I will see what I can do.

Before people try to say it - I am not trying to be bias towards The Legion. The Legion is a very large MU so has an advantage when it comes to the Total damage section and in theory more individuals would lead to more battles heroes but a bigger unit has a hard time on the average damage and the percent active.

I do not believe that any single MU will run away in the rankings with this system - something that happened when the MoD tried this in the past. What I would like with a system is for the top four or five MUs to be in a battle for the top. I am thinking after the first round an extra “event” could be added which would be improvement. This would be how the MU improved on the performance the week before.

This is not set in stone, feel free to PM me ideas. If I don’t implement them, it just means I don’t think they will necessarily improve the balance. I will listen to all ideas and of course will be looking more openly to change things when we have the results of the first round.

The first round will be using stats on eGov tomorrow so starts at 22:00 eRep time today! Battle Heroes stats will be tracked from tomorrow at day change

I wish I could track this using the combat orders in game, sadly that backfired.

This was drawn up as a backup due to the failure this morning, prizes will of course be awarded to the MUs after each round.

Rounds will last 3 days.

Prepare for 22:00!

Thanks all,

Carlini
