AMP Congress Sign-ups

AMP Congress In Session

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in congress? Are you a newer player looking to become involved in the political aspect of eRep? Do you enjoy forum debates that may or may not affect the running of the eUS? Have you been in congress 17 times already but really, really want to do it again?

Congress sign-ups are now open in AMP, and we are looking for people to fill seats. If you've never run before, don't worry! There will be people to help you figure out what to do, where to post, and what exactly is required of being a congressman. Unlike prior terms, new members will not be required to take a "readiness quiz" to qualify for a congress position.

To sign up, visit the forums here. All you need to do is post a platform (why you’d be a good fit for a position in congress) and fill in the application form (the link for which is in the first post).

As Evry, this term's PAC Director, says, "Hey! You should run for congress under AMP because we're awesome!"

We are indeed, Evry… we are indeed.

Interview with Paul Proteus

Definitely not a made-up quote

As of yesterday, Paul Proteus became Party President of AMP. In his great wisdom, he made me Media Director for the party. To exact revenge, I came up with a short list of questions for him so that we can all get to know him.

Sarah: Approximately how many AMPs would you say you feel?

Paul: All of them

Sarah: What change(s) would you like to see in the party by the start of next term?

Paul: There are several immediate changes I'd like to enact, some in the mundane everyday dealings of the party, and some more abstract. All of them focus primarily on the party's activity, we're a great party with great people, there's no reason we can't project that in our community and in other party's perception of us. It starts with a culture of activity in leadership, with daily briefing, and greater involvement in contests, media and the party in general. Next comes more activity in all sectors and greater promotion of community, which I'm largely hoping to achieve through the renovated Retention department, and the honorable Malarkey83 who'll be heading that up.

Sarah: Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?

Paul: 100 duck-sized horses, it'd likely be more difficult, but it'd be hilarious.

Sarah: What makes AMP the sexiest party?

Paul: Well I mean, I'm bringing it back. Also, our members, the opportunity for newer players and, well, last I heard this new PP was pretty cool.

Sarah: What song would you like to dedicate to AMP in the next "Toga Party" radio show?

Paul: Never Knew Love by They Might Be Giants

Sarah: What would you say to a citizen who's thinking about joining us in AMP?

Paul: We're a great party, with a great history, and incredible opportunity for newer members in party leadership and on our congressional ballot. If you want to join a party that has strong leadership, American heavy-weights, and a fantastic chance to have your voice heard, there isn't a better party.

Tune in next article for an interview with another member of AMP! Who will it be? Probably whoever the heck I can annoy enough to answer questions, but who knows! It could be you!

AMPlified Honors Award Program

So honorable, so majestic

The AMPlified Honors is an award program meant to honor AMP members, recognize particularly witty forum posts and IRC quotes, and make sure everybody knows John Largo is a frickin’ tank.

If you haven’t voted yet, head over to the forums here. The first post contains descriptions of each award and a link to vote. Make our Retention Director, Malarkey83, proud and help make this new, fun program a success!

"Toga Party" Returns

Sarah gets comfortable in the broadcasting chair again

"Toga Party" is the radio show that I used to host a few months ago, and as I've been appointed Media Director again, I decided now is a good time to bring it back.

"Toga Party" is a radio show that has nothing at all to do with eRepublik. Hosted on Mixlr rather than the usual BlogTalkRadio for better quality audio, the show focuses on playing music, taking song dedications and requests, and games for q7 tanks.

If you're interested in answering some trivia questions for prizes, you'd like to spend your Thursday listening to a bit of decent music, or you just want to hear that song Paul dedicated above without having to actually go to YouTube yourself, join me in #TogaParty tomorrow (Thursday, October 17th) at 18:00 eRep/9pm EST.

After this week, shows will begin again regularly on Wednesdays at 18:00 eRep/9PM EST.

That's it for now! If you know who you'd like me to interview next or you have a topic you'd like me to cover, comment or message me.

And, as always, feel the AMPs!
