The story about the doctor and a gypsy

One day a doctor decides to buy a land in the neighborhood he likes and starts to build a house. A week later a gypsy buys land in the same neighborhood right next to the doctors land and starts to build his own house.



So they are both building houses, and sure enough, as soon as the doctor builds the walls the gypsy builds the same exact walls, with the same windows and the same doors exactly at the spots where doctor put them.
The same continues with the roof, the gypsy building the exact same chimney and using the exact same roofing sheets as the doctor.



A week after the both houses are built the gypsy sees the doctor standing on the street looking at the houses so he comes out too and they start to talk.
"We sure did build great looking houses" the doctor said.
"Yes we did", said the gypsy.
"If we were to sell those houses now, what do you think we would get for them??" asked the doctor.

The gypsy is looking at the houses and the neighborhood as he formulates a figure in his head. So finally he said : "I could probably get somewhere about 300000€ as the house is large and situated in a very attractive neighborhood."

"Yes, I was thinking the same thing!" says the doctor.
"But you are wrong, i would value your house for only about 270000€" said the gypsy.
Now the doctor is looking at the both houses trying to spot the difference between them and he can't find a single one. So finally he asks: "But why is my house worth less than yours, and they are identical??"

Yes they are, the gypsy replies. But anyone buying my house will have a doctor for a neighbor and your neighbor is the gypsy.
