Greetings From Bulgaria

Hello everyone!
I am Vladi U and as some of you know I am the Bulgarian ambassador to the eUK. I wrote this article officially to present myself. I hope that we will remain our friendly relations, continuing to help each other. If you have any questions about Bulgaria or eBulgaria I will try to be absolutely accurate and fast to answer them 🙂.




I want to introduce something like a tradition of my articles. Every time when I do an article in your press, independently what it is about – I will include something about Bulgaria – the real one, so you will be more familiar with the country. I am sure that you don’t know many about it. I hope it will be interesting for you.

So, I am going to have a try to present you something about our geography:

Bulgaria is a country located in south-eastern Europe. With a territory of 111,000 square kilometres, it is Europe's 16th-largest country. Bulgaria occupies the Balkan Peninsula, bordering five countries.




Some of the most notable features:





The Balkan Mountains run through the middle of the country. They divide Bulgaria in two parts – northern and southern. Here are photos of the mountains:

The gorge of Iskar River, near the village of Lakatnik.




Other famous mountains are Rila, Pirin and the Rhodopes:

In Rila is located the highest peak in the Balkan Peninsula – Musala (2925m).




There are also the stunning Seven Rila lakes.
