Mr Knee
I don’t think anyone can deny that Big Ant is highly active, enthusiastic and highly communicative (especially in the past where his level of activity was borderline spamming at times). As a member of the UKPP, I should also give a nod up to the fact a fellow member of my party has finally been given a government role from one of the other 2 main parties.
This is not intended as a direct attack on Big Ant, but is one of part amusement at the general defence of him and his performance in the past 6 months.
There have been numerous comments...
...made in several articles recently about Big Ant’s performance in various departments. Last month someone questioned his performance as head of the MoD. The response (paraphrased) from Big Ant and friends was:
“He is doing a good job as evident from the fact he has previously worked for a month in:
+ the Foreign Office x1
+ the Home Office x1
+ the Ministry of Defence x1
+ the Ministry of Sound x1
+ the Ministry of Silly Walks x1
+ deputy PM* x1
+ blackboard monitor at school x 1 (week)
On the basis of these prior roles, he is clearly a great and skilled head of the MoD”.
Aside from my own personal view...
...that a single month in a role is insufficient time to properly learn it and to stamp your foot into it and mold it, there seems to be a general view when defending him that it is a question of quantity and not one of quality. To be frank, the way he has repeatedly got new roles, spent a single month in it and then rewarded with a different and new role the follow month has a certain “Position bingo”. Now he has been voted in as PM, I did expect his first article to contain him shouting “Housey, Housey” and showing the bingo hall manager the fact he has ticked off all the squares.
In terms of actual performance...
...in those roles, I can’t think of anything particular stand-outish or remarkable about any of them. I’m sure those in the relevant departments at the time can cite a long list of achievements under his stewardship. Of course, some praise has been taken for the fact Poland came in and side by side kicked the French’s backsides. I might be doing Big Ant a disservice, but if your country has been overrun by the enemy then approaching your allies (especially the bigger ones) and asking for help is hardly groundbreaking, original or setting a marker as a military leader.
Likewise...
...in Big Ant’s pre-election comments about what he wished to achieve, his plans for the military was critiqued by people in various military units. A lack of understanding perhaps? His friends will say “no” and point out that he has been in 6 different department in the last 6 months.
I...
...have no idea how successful Big Ant will be as PM – no doubt it’ll be classed as a success with the fact he has now held every role in the eUK as evidence of this. As a citizen of the eUK, I naturally hope he does do a good job.
I should probably write a summarising final paragraph...
...to bring everything together but cannot be bothered. I suspect that upon being critical of BigAnt that I’ll be accused of trolling etc. No doubt my lack of positions in a cabinet will mean I am disqualified from having a valid opinion on this – although as Big Ant once said to me, if I want a cabinet position (after getting elected), I’d have to leave the UKPP. Although the fact a colleague of the UKPP has been given a role this month probably suggests this policy has now been scrapped.
But actually as an afterthought...
...I promise to mock anyone who in the future defends Big Ant’s performance on the basis of the fact he has managed to tick off all the boxes on the list of roles in the eUK government. If Big Ant himself points out he has a long list of prior roles, then I shall also imply that the “big” in Big Ant is also a case of over compensation in other matters where the length of the list of his roles is in direct inverse relation to the size of his penis.
*(where he did a load of publicity stunts in a John Prescott type manner, maybe)

"In terms of actual performance...

To be fair, the fact BA stayed active throughout each of his roles is pretty remarkable. This is particularly true considering the inconsistency of supposedly experienced 'veteran' members of the eUK that always seem to end up in government.
Other than that, you raise some valid points, especially the last paragraph. 😛
The quantity of the work BigAnt does is unquestionable. UK must be glad to have him on board.
Your article raises correct questions about the quality of BigAnts work. I do see improvement in quality and I do hope he will be a good CP. You have to break eggs to get a good omelet?
Great points brought up Mr Knee. Unfortunately like last month we didn't really have much choice in the matter. BA aint gonna break any new ground nor is his term going to end in a train wreck. It'll just plod along...
Superb article that intelligently and maturely addresses the concerns that a lot of us have about this term.
Glad you brought up these questions, Mr. Knee.
Great article!
😁😁😁
Mr Knee > Only the British can write like this! : ]
I thought French invasion was to blame to Keers. Defence policy is not subject to the minister but to the CP. Defence minister implements THE policy. Canada Invasion was idea of Big Ant or Keers? Anyway, Big Ant supported NHS, and Blue and Evil delivered himself the aid. Perhaps Big Ant is not as Big, but big enough and not keerish. Very good point the anatomical one: it reveals a pure "ad hominem" ( or "ad penem") attack , a pure falacy.
The only guys to blame for the French invasion is the French themselves, neither Keers, nor jamesw can save the French from being French.
This whole man-crush you got on BigAnt Alphabethis is starting to get creepy! Perfectly valid questions brought up by Mr Knee.
Valid points raised in the article. I'm neutral on the whole CP race this month and there's no denying that BA did a great job with the NHS, which was probably where most of his support came from. Aside from that, I don't know what else to say about what he's done so far apart from the "Thank you, Poland" article. I'm just being honest.
I agree his term will be hailed a great success and voted up by himself, but I'm sure the eUK will not change very much by the end of his term. I hope I'm proved wrong. It's not a big secret that I'm not his biggest fan 🙂 but he is already writing about his massive win and all the great support he is getting from everybody. I see him as a little boy looking into the big boys playground and wishing to be one of them but until i'm elected as CP I'm not entitled to my opinion.
...................
And who else would have done a better job considering the other main candidate did not wish to do the term?
BMT would probably be similar but with less positivity.
Due to who is backing up bigant in his cabinet, the term will likely be a success.
As far as i've noticed, when he's been given a job, he does it fairly well and i'd rather know what people are doing than not know, i hadn't even heard of the other 2 candidates, so his publicity does work at least to some effect.
The French Invasion was not Keer's fault. The French had a president at the whims of his congress and had no real power. The French congress wanted war, so they got war. However, Keers could have gotten the Poles to help a tad sooner.
As a member of BigAnt's MU and Party, I can tell you he is a natural leader. He did his job, worked his way up, making friends and making jokes along the way. I agree, we need to see wether he can handle a true crises, but there is no reason to doubt him.
So, hes too inexperienced....
So this (me) inexperienced CP hired an experienced cabinet = me being even more inexperienced
Glorious 😃
Sour Grapes?
His party's candidate and policies were so despised that people voted for a candidate that had withdrawn to ensure a block on any chance of that candidate being in any position to succeed in case of impeachment.
Had we had the misfortune to elect the UKPP candidate would you have written a similar article on her (his?) inexperience.
Sexagenarian -
Well, people generally vote for their own party's candidate regardless of whether or not they have withdrawn. I am not entirely sure in what way the UKPP candidate is 'despised'. Care to quantify that comment?
The basis of the article (as per the bit at the top) was for it not to be a direct attack on Big Ant himself. It was more of a dig at those who have been building him up on the basis of the number of departments in government he has jumped through.
So would I have written an article about BMT had they been voted in? No... but then again, neither BMT nor the UKPP have been repeatedly answering any queries about his abilities by posting up lists of all the departments he has briefly worked in. In the older days, it wasn't unusual for someone to work under a minister for several months in the same department to learn the job. As per a middle paragraph, I have doubts that a single month in a department is sufficent - regardless of who it is.
I suspect if you had aimed the "inexperienced" question at BMT, they would be happy to admit that they were inexperienced in terms of actual official positions. On the other hand, BMT could point to a wider knowledge of the game. In terms of myself, I have been playing for over three years but would be considered inexperienced at the game compared with Big Ant due to the "Ooooo, look at how many departments I have worked in" listings that BA and friends rate so highly.
Personally, I think Big Ant was simply the highest profiled person of a limited bunch to choose from...
As per my first paragraph, I acknowledged he was hard working etc - but the rest was questioning the way everyone connected with him seem to be bigging him up.
Lucky enough for BigAnt, most people were not here so see how you behaved on your last account. To see you in this position you don't deserve just because you re-invented yourself and now showing how great you are.
We didn't vote for Drakula because we hated BMT, but because we didn't want either BMT (inexperienced) or BigAnt (annoying) - whilst knowing that BigAnt would win regardless, due to ESO and UKRP support.
yup totally agree
good article btw
Would have been interesting had people known more about the history behind the BigAnt account. It only came to my attention yesterday that BigAnt was a new account from a returning player, had it been made public beforehand it may have influenced the result.
This article wasn't an attack on BigAnt, rather an attack on his blind uninformed supporters.
We had some of the most experienced people in the eUK as CP the past few months. Nothing changed. So why say nothing will change now in a negative light?
WayneKerr: That information was not verified to me, but I made the party aware of it during our vote. The consensus seemed to be that even if true, who cares? For all I know everyone posting on this thread could have had multiple accounts. This supposed 'scandal' is just silly.
All this article basically says is a) I don't like BA, b) I don't think he has enough experience, and c) I think his term will be more of the same. These are all opinions/predictions, hardly anything noteworthy.
Perhaps if TUP fielded a candidate who wanted to run, or produced election articles outlining his plans, or perhaps even showed an interest then we might have had this better list of candidates? Instead TUP fielded a candidate who couldnt even be bothered to turn up as Commander of the BEF half the time when i was in it.
If you have complaints then direct them at TUP and UKPP's 'poor' choice of candidates which have let this ''novice'' CP take control...and for the record i voted BigAnt
...And at no point is that a dig at BigAnt. I'm just tired of people moaning about the candidate list when their parties were apparently guilty then of fielding p*ss poor candidates in the first place.
Give the guy a chance for Gods sake before you crucify him. If he messes up then do it.
Personally CD has supplied me on time every day for ages; with BigAnt it was at least 2 or 3 days, sometimes 5 or 6, before I got what I was due. I would like to know what his old account was called, as whatever he did before shouldn't be wiped clean just by starting again.
Exactly the reason I left this country, Mr Knee raises some genuine concerns and he gets retarded replies.
Complete idiots.
@Elle
A) In no way does the article state a dislike for BigAnt, it's more of a mocking of his blind and uninformed supporters!
😎I think it's a welcome change to leadership. Without fresh meat being blooded eUK will stagnate. I thinks its a genuine concern that has been raised, maybe BigAnts supporters need to hush up rather then being so vocal about bigging him up.
C) Isn't every term more of the same, eUK lacks anyone with bollocks and foresight!
