Will the aliance shift change anything?

Day 3,107, 10:50 Published in Latvia Latvia by Tr3LoS

Greetings!

After reading VyC ARGs article I took a time to think about alliances and the shifts that are going on. His article concluded on the note that the game is now more balanced and we can expect some exciting stuff happening after the Resource Wars ends.

While theoritically with the foundation of Syndicate the world damage has become more evenly distributed among alliances, it is still a good question whether or not it will actually transfer to actual wars, since Asteria, Pacifica and Syndicate share MPPs with each other.

To see where are we at, lets look at who has MPP with who(yes, I know resource wars have changed MPP sets for many countries, but you can still see the trends). The MPPs were counted on day 3106 around 12:00 eRepublik time. Nebula and Orion MPPs are counted under ProAsteria category, while P.L.U.T.O. ones are counted under AntiAsteria category. Countries with no alliances are considered Pro or Anti Asteria depending on their MPP sets.

So lets begin!

Asteria

Still the strongest alliance in the game, it shares MPPs with Pacifica nations, and in some cases, with Syndicate members. After losing Argentina and Brazil to Pacifica and then Syndicate, it has brought aboard two of its stronger proAsteria members – Iran and Peru. I think it is safe to assume that none of the Syndicate members will have MPP with Serbia, but some have already stated that they will keep Romanian MPP and it is also expected that Argentina will keep MPP with Portugal, so even though the new alliance aims to fight Asteria, they still have good relationships between some of the members.

Pacifica

As we can see, members of Pacifica generally share MPPs with Asteria and the Syndicate trio of Greece/Brazil/Argentina. Turkey, which is the only true AntiAsteria country in the Syndicate alliance has no MPPs with Pacifica nations. Pacifica also doesn`t share a single MPP with Adriatica or any AntiAsteria country(yes, there was USA-Georgia MPP, but it`s not active anymore and my sources indicates that the MPP will not be renewed). While relationships between some Pacifica and Asteria members are quite interesting(PL/HUN-RO; USA/PL-SER; USA-Iran), still Pacifica generally fights AntiAsteria countries, so I believe that Pacifica nations have more in common with Asteria than Adriatica, which leads me to think that Pacifica-Syndicate cooperation works(and will continue to work) only against certain third party enemies(for example, Bulgaria, FYROM, Indonesia)

Syndicate

While positioning themselves as a partner of Adriatica, currently only Greece has MPPs with members of Adriatica alliance. Syndicate currently is the “x factor” that could either spice up the New World or keep it the way it is. Since it has been only recently established, it will be interesting to see to which direction this alliance will go and will they be able to fully commit to their Adriatica partners, but as of now they could be considered the most neutral alliance of all – sharing MPPs with all three of the other major aliances Adriatica, Asteria and Pacifica.

Adriatica

The only true AntiAsteria alliance. Has 0 MPPs with Asteria or Pacifica and only Thailand/Croatia has one Syndicate MPP(Greece). It will be interesting to see if and how Chile-Greece-FYROM/Bulgaria love triangle will be solved, because I believe it will be the issue which will not allow them and Syndicate to fully commit to each other.

Has anything changed?

On paper, at the moment we have four quite evenly matched alliances in terms of raw damage. In reality, we still have the same old communication circles, same old issues that prevents either side from fully committing to itself and the same old habbits of having MPPs with everyone.

Will anything change?

I highly doubt it. Since Asteria and Pacifica will not start to fight each other and/or Adriatica will not become ally of Pacifica and/or Asteria, as I mentioned before, the “x factor” is Syndicate alliance and if they will fully commit to become AntiAsteria alliance, which I don`t see happening. It will be hard to become AntiAsteria when you define that you will never fight against Romania and want MPP with them, when many of your players still likes Serbia and 3/4ths of CUAP(Colombia-Uruguay-Argentina-Portugal) brotherhood is spread across Pacifica, Asteria and Nebula(proAsteria alliance). Currently the alliance shifts looks to me more as a taking eggs our of one basket and putting them into another similar one.

So my conclusion is: nothing will change

Thank you for your attention and feel free to share your thought in comments.

Have a nice day!
