Why you should vote TUP on the 25th of January
Spite313
I joined the TUP around two weeks ago, and I want to tell you why I support them, and why I will be supporting their candidates around the country.
The TUP isn't a new party, but it has new ideas. It was founded long ago, but it is widely acknowledged by many, including party founder Final Destiny, as having undergone a revolution of policy and ideology that makes it almost unrecognisable from the party of yesteryear.
The TUP today is exciting, vibrant and intelligent. The TUP forums are incredibly active, with hundreds of posts each week. Policy is one of the main areas of discussion, with a constant process of proposal, criticism and debate creating proposals which can be taken forward with confidence and strength.
I know that the PCP and UKRP have made an outstanding contribution to the eUK in the past, and I considered them both before joining TUP. Their contributions however are mostly from the same experienced players, who time and again win elections and take up the reigns. Dish's House of Lords idea finally opened up the House of Commons to new players- and what was the result? A House of Commons with a 31% TUP presence. This is no accident:
The TUP (and MDU) have been making massive gains because as a political party we care for new players. Because we are smaller and have a less illustrious history, we rely on our politics and good character not our name to win votes. If you are a new player, please consider voting for and joining the TUP- but most importantly, consider getting involved and putting forward your ideas for how to make the eUK a better place.
Our candidates on the 25th January represent a mixture of experienced and new players. For many, this is their first chance at congress, and they come with new ideas and a new perspective. If you want to contact your local TUP candidate, but aren't sure who they are, PM me and I'll forward their in-game name to you.
What the TUP stands for: It is often said that because the TUP aren't economically either communist or libertarian they have no economic policy. This is completely untrue. From what I understand, the TUP have amongst their ranks budding economists of great character. However, much like real life economists the TUP believe that there are different solutions for different problems. Sometimes state intervention is positive, and sometimes it has a detrimental effect. What this effectively means is that you can trust your local TUP congressman not to be bound up by ideology and dogma, but to listen to their constituents (you!) and vote based on what is best in that situation.
The Unity Party is on the rise. It is the party of the people- not just the left wingers and right wingers out there but all of the eUK.
Remember - a vote for the Unity Party is a vote for freedom, for fun and for equal rights for every citizen of the United Kingdom.
For those of you expecting an unbiased article all will be back to normal tomorrow

"Their contributions however are mostly from the same experienced players, who time and again win elections and take up the reigns."
I disagree with you on this point. Most of our congressman and congressional candidates are relativley new. And we have big contributions from new players, like Rastari's helpline idea.
"we care for new players"
All parties help out new players
"we rely on our politics and good character not our name to win votes"
We haven't seen a TUP manifesto in months. I hate to say it but policy won't have been much of a factor for newer TUP members
"you can trust your local TUP congressman not to be bound up by ideology and dogma"
I disagree here too. How does TUP as a party not having a clear economic ideal prevent its congressman from voting based on their ideals?
"a vote for the Unity Party is a vote for freedom, for fun and for equal rights for every citizen of the United Kingdom. "
Freedom and equal rights are already ensured by game rules and mechanics. The 'fun' part is generated by the whole community, so TUP can hardly claim this as something they stand for ahead of others.
also,
don't use Lord percentage as a factor
PCP has over twice as many than TUP in HoL
Well yes, that's my point Taytaz.
I agree with this article.
"I disagree with you on this point. Most of our congressman and congressional candidates are relativley new. And we have big contributions from new players, like Rastari's helpline idea."
It's quite ironic that you pluralised so many words to give a greater sense of numbers, then go on to list one person.
"All parties help out new players"
I disagree. For instance, creating a hostile atmosphere doesn't help new players feel like wanting to get involved. I'm sure you know what I mean.
"We haven't seen a TUP manifesto in months. I hate to say it but policy won't have been much of a factor for newer TUP members"
True, but it's true what they say, you can't make an election pie without a herd of sheep.
"I disagree here too. How does TUP as a party not having a clear economic ideal prevent its congressman from voting based on their ideals?"
Well, you kind of answered that one on your own. Without a strict set of rules there is nothing stopping them from doing what they think is best regardless of political alignment.
"Freedom and equal rights are already ensured by game rules and mechanics. The 'fun' part is generated by the whole community, so TUP can hardly claim this as something they stand for ahead of others."
Ensured by game rules? Tell that to Australia and countless other country's that have been the victim of oppression. TUP are most definitely the main party in terms of creating a fun atmosphere, with PCP and UKRP most definitely being the absolute worst due to their pathetic need for constant bickering.
So, as you see, when you look at the whole picture, not just the small piece you want to look at, you can see that TUP is most definitely at the heart of a fun Britain.
And as far as a comparison between the number of TUP and PCP HoL members - all that says to me is that PCP have more out of date politicians 😉
voted, i'm old yet new in TUP, good luck for you
Great article; I hope to be standing for Northern Ireland to defend the seat the people granted me in the last election.
"It's quite ironic that you pluralised so many words to give a greater sense of numbers, then go on to list one person. "
If you want me to post a list of new active players than I can, but I don't see what the point would be
"For instance, creating a hostile atmosphere doesn't help new players feel like wanting to get involved. I'm sure you know what I mean."
Nope. The entire community is responsible for that.
"True, but it's true what they say, you can't make an election pie without a herd of sheep."
That isn't relevant to my counter-argument. Also the sheep vote issue is a problem in all parties
"Well, you kind of answered that one on your own. Without a strict set of rules there is nothing stopping them from doing what they think is best regardless of political alignment."
You've misconstrued my point. Firstly, Economics isn't the only issue in congress. Also, each indivual has their own economic ideals that can cloud their views, regardless of how lax their paryies economic policy is.
"Tell that to Australia and countless other country's that have been the victim of oppression."
Thats irrelvant to the UK parties though
"TUP are most definitely the main party in terms of creating a fun atmosphere, with PCP and UKRP most definitely being the absolute worst due to their pathetic need for constant bickering."
Thats totally untrue. he bad atmosphere is a product of the entire community. And you certainly couldn't blame UKRP and PCP alone. For exapmle look at the MDU/UKRP thing going on atm, and TUP were involved in all the 'bickering' during the coaltion fiasco.
Also, flame wars and bickering tend to come as a result of elections, and TUP haven't been in an election for a while, so this will naturally reduce involvment in such flames.
"TUP is most definitely at the heart of a fun Britain. "
How?
"PCP have more out of date politicians"
The lords are in most cases as in touch as the congressman.
Great article. I hold a lot of respect for TUP, and I wish you best of luck.
Shame we all now have to clearly distinguish our articles from that of the party we are affiliated to for those who are immature enough not to be able to do that themselves but hey ho! 😉
"TUP are most definitely the main party in terms of creating a fun atmosphere"
actually the MDU and PCP are probably the two parties that do the most to create fun, i believe that you are just focusing on the negatives like the bickering and therefore forgetting about all of the games and getting to know you threads started up as well as the welcoming newer members that goes on in our party, something certain tup members are good at as well but that doesn't allow you to claim that you do more to create a fun atmosphere.
Within about a week of joining the forums I had been attacked by at least four PCP members. Yes, very fun.
"Within about a week of joining the forums I had been attacked by at least four PCP members. Yes, very fun."
That means one of three things
1. You overreacted
2. You missed the joke
3. That didn't really happen
And now I'm being accused of halucinating or lying by another one. Very friendly.
Just a freindly suggestion as to how this misunderstanding may have occured 😛
