Why I joined the SFP, and never needed to looked back.

Day 2,780, 21:08 Published in USA Japan by Nohime

This Proletariat has 3 topics.

1. Why has Waffenmeister not yet been approved his citizenship? Why was Murat denied citizenship again? Is it because of his Serbian damage? I thought we were sucking Serbian pole these days? Ya, so, I figured he would be a shoe in with that Serbian goo displaying in his True Patriot history, I figured IES would be on their knees ready to play catch with that. Oh, btw, he’s not RL Turk or Serbian. He’s a pretty cool dude.

2. What is this deal IES is striking with MUs to be assigned to top 5 parties and have its members tell me that it's part of an ‘agreement?’ IES sounds corrupt as hell. Are they being paid to sit in military units to fluff the numbers? If they are, you’re forgetting about the Black Sheep Party! lol

3. The longer topic:

There is an atmosphere of camaraderie I am addicted to in this game. I have yet to write a ‘Ima rage quit cuz rah rah the man,’ and I bet my harshest critics probably would love to see one. The closest I came to giving them any sort of instance of quitting this game was sticking my middle finger up in the air at them, and starting that Civil War.

BECAUSE EFF THE MAN, RAH RAH, THAT'S WHY!!!

I burnt some important bridges along the way too. A good handful of people I had developed a close relationship to in 2014 I suddenly didn’t care about anymore. Yes, they tried to show me the good reasons of why I should calm down, take a step back and listen, pay attention to my surroundings; absorb the enlightenment of how to play this game to win the Country Presidency.

But that’s not what I wanted to do. I saw several close friends become Country President and eventually become their own worst enemy. Yeah, they got some cajones getting up there on the big stage, but after being CP it left most of them dried out and washed out. Like they couldn’t give a hoot about the country anymore. That’s either apathy, a CP cash retirement I don’t know about...or a little of both. I just...that wasn’t what I considered fun.

When I was a Fed the most valuable thing to me was the person on my right and the person on my left. Its also the person I see right in front of me because I knew that person was new and needed help with directions in this messed up game. I didn’t have time or want to get drawn into having to watch my back, be careful what I say or who is watching me. That’s ridiculous to have to play this game that way! When a few of the closest Feds suddenly stopped encouraging growth, and new players to ascend the Fed Party Presidency, it really made me step back and realize that the stakes were always going to be higher in the party.

Wheeling and backdoor dealing was common in the political realm of meta gaming, but never came close to crucifying its own members; casting aside great relationships to tear each other down because someone they didn’t like was rubbing shoulders now. When I saw the outside voices dictate how the party line was towed I knew it was the end. It was a pretty bad summer of 2014 when one of the great Feds twisted.pixel left the game because of the appalling infighting that was going on. When it happened again, earlier this year with more infighting and backstabbing, I knew the fun ride was over.

I left. But the grass was not greener on the other side. That sounds rather harsh and demeaning, but trust me its not. The past few months since I’ve been in the SFP it felt like the Feds of old. There are so many similarities between SFP and the Feds it kinda blew my mind. Each party loves every grain of sand that it touches, smells, hears; it tries to enhance and address every opportunity from party wall shouts, forum interaction to IRC chit chat.

I felt home again.

And since I’ve been here I’ve made great relationships with the players in this party and military unit: Bear Cavalry. I’ve known Shiloh and Jude since 2009...a couple of rabble-rousers, just like myself. Then I figured it out. The Socialist Freedom Party is overall untainted by the poison in the eUSA Forums. Current, and longtime, members actually refrain from going there entirely because they know it's full of money hoarders and power tripping egos that dictate the meta gaming rules. The Socialist Freedom party keeps its distance from those arenas. It is not a physically a top 5 party.

But over the past few months its earned some damn respect. When it's woken from its slumber the Writer’s Guild can move mountains of media, more than any other party has ever produced. Its political strength can either help an ailing top 5 party, or show that it means business by dropping it like a sad bag of bricks.

Today, two candidates running for Country President have the most Socialist Freedom Party members slated on their cabinets in high ranking government positions than ever before. Despite the naysayers, the 6th party is now being recognized by more and more players, as a monstrous bear, emerging from hibernation. It has the 5th place party shaking in its boots because it knows there are gnawing and flashing teeth right on their heels.

Game on. Should the top 5 be worried? Could a group of SFP members be gaining a larger influence on the meta game? Or should the SFP be worried? That this is the closest it's come, in a long time, to being an actual part of the eUSA government? The most appealing aspect of my party now was one thing and I hope it remains that way no matter if it moves up the political spectrum or down: its the person on my right, and the person on my left. And it's for damn sure the person in front of me looking for a helping hand to the new world because I know I don’t have to watch out for someone behind me wielding a knife.

My back is against the wall. The Socialist Freedom Party is my home. It has no debt or shame to the old cranky guards of the eUSA forums. The SFP loves eUSA, but don’t think it won’t hold eUSA accountable for being complacent. It prides itself on longstanding prestige: Activity, Idealism, Outreach and Solidarity.

Fight the power.
