I wish to thank the Oblige Administration's Media Department for hosting the January 2012 Grab Bags Fundraiser, to benefit Bewbs 4 Newbs, Meals on Wheels & the eUS Civilian Military Group. When new players join the game, these are the government give-away programs that accelerate their growth, increase their battle influence, and keep them playing this game we all invest ourselves in.

Thanks, also, to these Sponsors who contributed goods to the cause, reducing overhead costs and raising the net gain to America: jmarsh, ishabad, weasel2, potato134 and Oblige.

But most of all, together we thank all who participated in the Grab Bags fundraising event. We broke all previous records in number of Bags sold, gross and net values, and best of all the number of prizes awarded.

A Special Interview with The President

Michael Roberts Richard is a member of Lysander Spooner II's MU, Agorist Underground.
A while back, he sent a set of interview questions to President Oblige.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to some of your group's concerns
Being President is a busy job, thus the delay in my reply to your request.

So, I hear you are "vile, but get's the job done". Would you consider yourself "vile" in anyway?
That's a pretty rough way to start an interview if you expect positive results. Of course I don't consider myself, or any of my Executive Staff, to be "vile" in any way.

People complain about the heavy taxes. Do you oppose or for high taxes for a "greater good"?
Taxes are Congress' business, not the Executive's. Every month there are lengthy discussions in Congress which involve experienced players including members of the CBO and EC. Full participation in the American process includes every citizen voicing their opinion in the eUS Forums' Legislative boards so Congress knows what they want.
The proper approach to a question like this isn't being for or against it, but being flexible to acknowledge when increases and decreases are needed.

Regarding to hearing about Spooner, do you not see his cause as "justifiable"? According to him fighting the eUSA was justifiable.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinions. However, Spooner's actions were against longstanding US foreign and domestic policy. While his motives may have been honorable his actions were not.
My job is to keep America moving forward, and we're past all that now.

What is you're intake on imperialism? Are you for or against occupying other nation's regions?
Imperialism is not the same in game as in RL, and you seem a bit confused about the difference. Our enemies practice game Imperialism by eliminating or dominating smaller eNations, whether for the resources or more often for their own amusement.
What the US and our allies do is to fight against that Imperialism. Right now there's a bit of revenge being taken for the many months of unwarranted aggression ONE has imposed on ourselves and our allies, and it does include busting countries like Poland and Serbia and Indonesia in the chops.

If elected again, what in eAmerica will you do differently? Would you do anything different vs. what is being done now?
The game is fluid, situations change all the time. What has made my Presidency different is my ability to be flexible and adapt on the fly to the ever changing landscape. America can expect me to continue doing exactly that as we move forward from the Revenge phase to Economic Recovery for our allies who have suffered heavily at the hands of our enemies.
