As you know, The UK Progression Party faced a dastardly assault in the last PP Election where rogue elements of our party buoyed by official support from UKRP leadership attempted to take control of our party against the wishes of a majority of the members. This time we face such a threat again. Our party faces a choice. We can continue to stand defiant and independent, or we can give in to hatred and occupation. My main opponent has in the past attempted to merge our party with UKRP. That is all we need to know to know someone like that is ill-fit to be our PP. We need a leader who will exercise sound judgment as PP.
If I am your PP for another term, I promise we will continue to hold strong and move closer to becoming the dominant party in the country. I promise inclusion to all members who do not constantly troll our party feed and do nothing but attempt to damage and undermine our party by their actions. For the people who do this, you make it impossible for me to work with you. Be reasonable, and so will I. We will also fight to take back our country and speak out against poorly made deals that get us very little and leave us at the mercy of foreign invaders. This party must remain free and independent. I'm calling up all the banners of Windsor. Nothing less than the future of our nation is at stake. Let us secure our party in this Election and look forward to much success in the coming term!

He sees being King as his duty and responsibility. It's why he ONLY sought his rightful post after it was proven that Robert had no legitimate heir.
He may have started with good intentions but "power corrupts" and his quest ending with him selling all his morals in a bid to become King of the Iron Throne so by the end I don't think he gives a monkeys about the kingdom. BY lol for "holes in history", GoT isn't real just a succesful series of books, TV series and computer game.
Going back to my above point, after sacrificing his morality, daughter, and all dignity, Stannis still manages to lose the battle. So I take back everything, this is actually a very fitting comparison for you.
