It doesn't really matter in which eCountry you will start. Sooner or later you will pick up your weapons and start to fight. It is probably the most exciting thing you will do in eRepublik unless you are in politics and have to deal with more things than only the fighting to secure your eCountry's safety.

I'm sure that when you have just started to play and are still curious about the game. You will check on all the buttons on your screen and also check the button for "Wars". Perhaps it's the first thing you'll do when you start to play. As you can see in that section you will see a list of military campaigns (Campaign Of The Day, Campaigns of Country of Residence, Allies Campaigns and All Campaigns). You can choose any military campaign to fight for. For some campaigns you will need to travel to a country of one of the fighting sides.

Weapons
An important aspect of any war are off course your choice of weapons or in this case (well at least the way I see it now) the amount of weapons. It may be hard to swallow and will cause a lot of players to leave the game but the advice I got from several players was to NOT fight and stay on working and training in the begin. By the time I got that advice I was already fighting XD But as I mentioned before, ALL BEGIN IS HARD! And besides that, I just had to see for myself how everything was working. Once you start to play this game you basically have nothing. You are born and are born NAKED! So… one way of acquiring weapons is to ask people in your friend list if they can support you with weapons or food so you can buy your own guns. Another way is to produce raw weapon materials and build them when you work in your companies. Don't expect to earn a lot of cash in the begin from your companies! You can also work in a commune where you won't get paid lots of money but rather get payed with weapons. (which a lot of people say it's the best thing to do, at least I read that alot on a forum 😉 Buying on the marketplace is also a way to get your hands on weapons but once you drain out of cash you'll see you will attempt all the other options.

Military Unit
As a new eCitizen it is wisely to join a political party or a Military Unit. It is a way to interact with the community, to make new friends and exchange ideas, get weapons and/or food from fellow soldiers. A MU is a group of citizens with members and leaders to organize a national army or a group of mercenaries or private armies. Regiments are divisions inside a MU in which you will serve as a recruit or member. Each regiment can have up to 30 members and 20 recruits.
The highest in command of a MU is the Commander who can appoint a maximum of 2 Second Commanders. Each regiment is lead by a Captain who are chosen in a election on the 15th of each month. Everyone starts as a Recruit in a regiment to become a member you must achieve the rank of Sergeant and defeated 10 enemies as a member of the unit.

Daily Order
Every MU or regiment has its own Daily Order set by the Captains or Commander. The mission is simple: Kill 25 enemies in a battle chosen by Higher Command. Your rewards: 1 energy bar and 5 random bazooka parts.

Medals
As I am just starting and learning to play the game I come across a lot of player profiles. The other with even more achievements on his/her name and with tons of decorations. My advice to all new players is: Not to look at them but hit the add them as friend button \o/
Why I say this is because there are many players with a great history on eRepbulik and don't make the mistake of thinking as a new player to be there in a instant. You might lose your interest of the game way to fast. Instead add them as a friend and interact with them. You will notice that you will learn a lot of this game by being patient and asking questions.
