Three steps to Democratic Action

Day 1,059, 13:55 Published in Canada Romania by BogdanFV

Well I didn't write any of these in a long time so here is my go at a platform. I tried to adress what I thought where the three major problems of the DAL and three solutions on how to fix them.

Problem #1: Activity

It is a known fact that the changes admins brought to the game affected the activity levels of many players, it is also true that a lot of players left the game in such circumstances it's hard for a party to find enough active and dedicated citizens.

What are my solutions?

Solution #1: Advertise the DAL
It is true that the adds and articles don't have a big impact on our activity and numbers but they have an impact. I know a case in which the person decided to become active in politics because of the adds that where posted by a certain party. As every hand, every idea, every man counts in this dear times it is clear to me that encouraging others to join the family that is the DAL we only stand to win.

Solution #2: Games and contests
I am willing to support out of my own pocket the organization of contests that reward our active members. Awards like the weekly DALer are just one example of how the party would start to give something back to it's member. Implementing this step will be tricky and we will need a lot of contest ideas to get this up the ground but this project has a lot of potential and I will be behind it 100%.

Solution #3: Promotion of the DAL forums
The DAL forums are a fun place to be at but unfortunately many of our member do not know that, I plan to change that and bring the League in DAL back. Ok, this sounds good but how? First of all only the active members on the forums will be allowed to run for congress, I plan to send the best of the best to represent this party into congress and unfortunately that means cutting down the dead weight. If you can't waste 5 minutes a day on the party forums then I am afraid that you would just be a seat and not a real congressmen.

Problem #2: Organization

Every party, every military unit, every country bumps into this problem eventually, it is hard to keep track of every one inside the group and it is even harder to coordinate them in an efficient manner.

Solution #1: Database
I plant to implement a database that tracks every member of the DAL and it's status, either 2-clicker, dieing or active. This will help myself and any future president of the DAL know what we are up against, where we stand and who can we count on.

Solution #2: Mass-messaging
I implemented this during my first term as party president of the DAL and it was quite sucsefull but what does it mean? Basically each and every DAL member will get a message from me or my staff before important events in which we are involved, so expect at least 3 messages form me or the staff that will work with me during this month.

Solution #3: Communication
Communication won't stop at the level of mass messaging we need to improve the communication inside the DAL, I am talking about articles, IRC and forums. All these will play key roles in making the DAL a well oiled machine during this month. I explained how I plan to make the forums active again but what about the IRC? Another contest, another game? No, I plan to promote the DAL familly, Make it known that it is worth your while to spend time on the DAL IRC with your closest friends.

Problem #3: Media coverage

We don't have enough, sure we post articles here and now, a series of interviews, a small article, etc but that is not enough. For a party the size of DAL the media coverage we are enjoying is not enough, not by a long shot and I plan to improve it.

Solution #1: Involvement

I plan to encourage the active members of the DAL to write about the DAL and publish it either in the DAL papper or in their own. Taking the Get To Know Your DAL Member will be more and more frequent and will be more and more advertised. This is made so that every Canadian citizens knows what the DAL is really about, a group of open-minded friends that do their best to help Canada.

Solution #2: Weekly report

An article written each week in which we inform everybody of our moves. Reports on how DAL congressmen voted, projects implemented by the DAL and many more.

Solution #3: Charity
I plan to involve the DAL in more charitable projects like the DAL charity. I know it is not a soluton to the media coverage problem but the DAL is a strong force in Canada and I believe that you should help the man near you every time you get the chance.

Hope you enjoyed this little list of ideas, I surelly enjoyed writing something like this because as I said, it's been a while since I wrote something like this and I was missing it. Remember to vote with your heart tomorrow either Wolfgang or myself are experienced enough to know what to do with this office and I am sure both of us will do our best for the party.

Good luck to Wolfgang!
Good night Canada!
