TheSmoke4CP - National MU

Day 2,264, 16:52 Published in Canada Poland by TheSmoke
This one is for Tom Joad,

Ideas and public discussion can be very beneficial in helping to keep this game going, yet often countries overlook that and can become stagnant and boring. I am looking to push an idea, not new, but something that may change aspects of our community and bring something potentially exciting. The idea of a national MU has been tossed around before, but never finds too much traction. The major reason always seems to come down to community and individuality, so I hope to explain why this concern can be diluted.

I think the best approach to this situation is to slowly have MU’s bring their soldiers to the Canadian Civil Defense MU. Every MU that wishes to merge is given enough regiments to support their member base. Their Commanders will run as Captains and maintain control over their respected regiments. All slave pits and/or Communes supplies will stay exactly the same as the currently are, and MUs will run them just the same as always! I have been working in a CAF commune, and communicating in the High Command PM thread for many months now without actually being in the MU, and have not faced any issues. MU’s will lose their own personal chat feed, but I really don’t see how that would destroy a tight knit community. If anything, it will make MU’s stronger as their communities and personalities will be more open to the public.

We have been watching the game change recently with MU’s gaining more abilities and functions. This is why I think acting now can help put Canada up front, and utilize our strength on the battlefield. For our size, Canada does pack a punch, yet we are not a powerhouse nor are we shitting gold bricks, so the better we use the available advantages, the stronger we become. These functions are:

1) Active and Accurate Orders. With a national MU, we will be able to keep better up-to-date Daily Orders due to the larger amount of leaders. Commander, two 2nd Commanders, and Captains for every regiment. Since the Commander would most likely be the MoD or dMoD, we would have updated orders immediately to shift focus when and where needed.

2) Ability to Compete. We have recently seen the return of MU tournaments, and as usual Canadian MU’s are pouring out large amounts of damage, but for their size, we are usually left out of the running for the big prizes. If we were able to combine several of our prominent MU’s, we would be very competitive and have a chance of taking home large amounts of Money or Gold.

3) Activity and Communication. By having more people together, activity, communication, ideas, challenges etc. will be increased, helping to spur more Canadian community. Also, there may be a new MU chat feature introduced within the next few months, which would be more efficient and effective with more people in one spot. This could be ideal for supplying Canadians in war time situations.

4) Booster Packs. These little fellas were recently introduced as a pure gold grab by the admins. No other way to shake it, however, they can be quite effective for soldiers. If we have a National MU, with up to 100 soldiers in D4, a level 3 Damage Booster would cost 0.2 gold per soldier. This could be very enticing and effective for all those sugar daddies out there!

In all I think if we can muster the courage to try this out, Canada could really come out top military wise. We should expect a lot of fighting in the near future, and this is a potential step in the right direction. I know that this could be compared to the old CAF, which is before my time, however we no longer supply MU’s, so I think the biggest issue of preferential treatment is not really valid. The Command structure in our MU would start with our MoD department, with the most active and knowledgeable Canadians helping out. Each MU joining would get their own regiments, and be able to set up their original Commanders as Captains. Every soldier is urged to support their personal MU avatars just like before, and be proud of it.

I know that this is a very rough idea or layout of what would happen, but it is a start. I would like to further open discussion between MU Commanders to communicate ideas, concerns and other areas of interest. Let the critiquing begin!

Cheers,

TheSmoke
