The Zero Budget Proposal
Alphabethis
NHS organizers are always requesting donations to keep the program alive. Apparently, someone decided that we should run privately funded help programs. Surprisingly, and regretfully, the parties with 'social sensitiviness', WRP included, have, in my opinion, not fought hard enough to break this strange paradox:
- We have enough millions ( a couple of them) to be ROBBED but we don't have ANY money to support the slightest NHS.
The same could be said about national military unit. We don't have the money for a regular flow of supplies. But then again:
- We have millions readily available for the thieves , but not a single pence for weak players.
The real pity about this is the selfish (and dumb) mentality that _despises_ anything government funded (big dumb society?).
We should aim to a ZERO daily cash flow that keeps the coffers EMPTY and every SINGLE penny invested either in social programs either in personal improvement programs (training grounds).
The great idea of stocking gold and money has proven to be a HUGE fail. The traditional reason of keeping reserves in case of supporting a war is pointless, since, in those cases , all boils down to get the poles defending us.
So, let's focus on spending as much as it's collected. Otherwise, taxes go to THIEVES _DIRECTLY_.

I have thought the same.
Support for the NHS is a possibility, but despite the fact we appear to have a good surplus income thanks to taxes, the truth is that it isn't anywhere near as big as you might think.
We had millions to steal because Emergy donated millions to the national account.
Our tax income is about 120-130,000cc which covers 12 or 13 mpps a month. We currently have 13 MPPs.
Perhaps any surplus made could be sent to the NHS at the end of each term, But a national military is well out of the question.
As for the cash never having done anything useful, that's a huge fallacy. With the introduction of COs having a good amount of national savings has never been so important. We've spent large amounts in the past liberating our regions and no doubt will need to do so again.
Having an empty treasury would not be a good move, but likewise having an absurdly large amount of savings has no benefit either unless we are at war.
we often have an empty treasury (usually before the next CP starts).
Obviously, some money should be reserved for MPPs. Anyway, COs have never been used properly or they have been a decisive factor.

I think your income figure of 130k is off slightly based on this weeks figures tax income is about 175k pm if you add the income from the regions that Poland hold it is about 210k and that doesn't include extras such as rent from orgs, mm profit or prizes from competitions. Currently most prices are very low and we're not at war, if prices go back to previous levels or weapon and food use increases due to a war or competition presumably the surplus will be even higher.
or alternately the government, for once, could give all its money to the nhs. The nhs is privately funded through necessity.
You are absolutelly right Alpha. How come that we have a lot of gold and money which we are spending enourmously and "so to speak" giving oportunity to certain tfeives to steal where and how they can without asking or at least informing Congress about it,and on the other hand we haven"t any ammount of money to spend on younger eUKers who are by the way future of this great country. That i would call selfishness and hipocracy of the majority. We should and must help and to give as much as possible young players to be strong, otherwise they will stop playing erep from the very beginning.Greetings from Alex and you have my full support.Voted,subed.
thanks for the support. We think the same many of us.
Interesting and I'm sure these are very good points to consider, but is it really necessary to put the TUP in the middle of Stupid in capital letters?
Why is it everyone keeps complaining we don't have enough money, yet our work tax is half that of Polands?
it wasn't needed at all.... but it's a lot of fun for me.
} : - )
Agree. Money is good enough only if invested. Invested in economy and supporting UK units is way better than collecting treasure with no interest rates, waiting to be robbed. BigAnt can happen any month again.
This is a great idea.
We have saved up for 6 years and seen nothing for it, when the Government built up a lot of companies they were quietly stolen, when the Government built up a money reserve it was loudly stolen.
Sure having a load of money is nice for invasions... but who gets it? Oh a few friends of the CP to tank with? if we invested in all citizens fighting now we would do more damage in the first palce when the invasion comes, rather than having to buy it in.
Why has no one come up with this before.

It's always good to keep money "flowing" and make some profit, instead of simple piling.
Vote.
it was making a profit until it was stolen by floating it on the Money market...fairly successful, actually when it wasn't being stolen by chewie, jamesw or BA
Well, I guess that stealing is a flow, too. 😃

Agreed to that there's no need to build up reserves of millions, although I am not fancy to just blindly pass the money to one pocket to someone else's. (Alan don't get this wrong please)
We are ranting about not being being an e-country attractive enough.. Core of the game (you like it or not) is war hence if we want to get people involved, we need war that is played well and most importantly WON. Lately wars are won by either the side that has the most card-fighters OR offering better CO than the other side.
All in all my personal view is that a) spend the income to minimize the chance of being robbed b) support the ACTIVE players through NHS,training development program, CO, etc.
I agree by and large. I don't think we should spend every single cent we have in taxes, but I do agree that we should be sending most of our excess funds after mpps to things that help the nation grow. I would say that perhaps we spend 90% of excess funds on things like the NHS with the 10% remaining to hoard for rainy day issues.
As far as I know, the NHS was once government run and funded, then it was privatised because people thought we didn't need government control...
If the government gives donations, then perhaps the government should have a say in running it again?
