The way it is
Schoft
Some things will never change. There have been voices in the and currently that we need change towards Indonesia and become "friends". I am a bit old fashioned but I say NO to that idea. There are 3 reasons for that.
Resources
Since V1 we have been of interest to Indonesia, and this is because we have what they do not posses: certain resources. In particular NT and WA were of interest in V1 because of diamonds (in this case they are not forever) and nowadays saltpeter. Indonesia might give up on the idea for a couple of months but they are drawn towards Australia like a magpie to shiny objects.
RL issues
We must share some RL issues as well as they seem to always want to dominate us, and troll us with that as well. They are the bully in the region, Philippines and Malaysia go through the same cycle as well.
FUN
What kind of fun would we have if we do not have a common goal as eAussies?
We are demoted to training wars and helping our allies, sound good but this will deter people from eAustralia.
So my conclusion is we can not change.
I have seen the future and its murder.
😉
Comments
The only RL matter that's relevant is that we share the same e and RL geography. When folks start to baulk and have a hate session on them I reply that I'm proud to say I'm friends with e and RL Indonesians. I'm not ashamed of it nor do I desire to hide from it. Indonesians are good people. I am, however, starting to wonder whether there are too many RL issues with Indo.
Some want to continue to keep up animosity towards Indo. That's their call.
An in-game matter that is relevant is Indonesia's ability to change. Their dominance in the region is not what it once was and Australia is only growing. Already they outnumber us only 8:1 to the previous 16:1. At some point they have to figure out that the tiger they poking is going to grow up. We hope.
TJ -
What is the plan?
We have what they want (resourses) and they use force to get it. Plus they really like to wipe us and take away our congress. What have they done to change?
good point larsonman
well TJ what is your answer to it
and btw, who is having a hate session on the indos? Anybody who does not share your views it seems?
I agree with Schoft and I say NO to any so-called peace agreement with Indonesia too.
We've been down this road a million times before...
Louise I'm not going to respond to a comment that is personally targeted. I'll address the rest.
Yes, we have been down this road many times before. Wipe, RW, Wipe, RW. Either way we get wiped and we have to RW back. So the argument of war on is counter to the history nor what we've had to do in order to get our regions back today - it's still the same. So why keep banging the same line?
(CONT)
Three things people need to realise but hide their heads about pertaining to our recent victories:
1) As eIndo contains one of the most RL true national populations we have in game, a predominant Muslim RL country, a lot of Indonesians haven't been online over the past few days due to a religious holiday called Eid Mubarek (known as Hari Lebaran in Indonesia).
(CONT)
2) Out of those who are on, a lot have been formally pulled back due to our negotiations with Indo to end the war pending congressional sign off.
3) We temporarily have the luck of eUSA having an NE with eIndo. When that ends, we won't have the same support.
We have some good warriors, but as Maj said - 8:1
TL😉R - the events everyone have been so happy about have been caused by temporary circumstances - not by any perceived might located on our part. Those are facts.
I will never pussy out like the current govt has. Indo needs a turn at being on the receiving end.
^huh?
Are you following the war?
I'm happy to take the fall for it Infin. Just as long as we understand each other, when Indo build up next time and wipe us, I'll make sure the public are well informed at who gets the credit for taking that direction when the QQ articles start flowing on why we don't have a country or a congress.
I have never QQ an invasion from indo. I like being at war with them.
TJ - This is a game. Let's enjoy the highs as we can. We have fish!!!!!!
I am starting to think that TJ sold his account when he rage quit, and someone from Indo bought it.
Where is the peace plan? Less than 1 month ago Indo tried their harded to prevent us from having a congress. Your pro-Indo stance and threats of "I told you so" are getting old.
Getting old? Thanks to you and others who want this country destroyed they haven't even had a chance. As long as I've been involved in the game there has never been such a comprehensive effort between both countries. But fine with me Larson. I was participating in what I thought to be a mature debate. If all you got are your usual trolling remarks I'll leave you to your own devices.
And not for nothing champ - I'm kinda sick of your crap on my doorstep if you want me to be completely honest. I've been working my arse off with cabinet to raise money to supply for these campaign efforts. We've come out of wipe and only now are we in a position to make budget according to the latest Dept of Finance analysis. It's all in our report. We're transparent. We can spend the Reserves we have until we are in a real hole and you'd be looking to blame the Government for that as well.
I've enjoyed taking back our regions and seeing Indo get their comeuppance but I know that this can't last.
As has been said. They outnumber us by a substantial amount and the only way we currently win is to have a LOT of allied support.
What we do need to do is to come to an understanding so that the cycle of Indo wiping Aus doesn't keep repeating. I don't see us becoming bff's with Indo, but we do need to work on communication issues.
DEATH TO INDONESIAN INFIDELS \o/
I love being the devil's advocate 😉
Is there a political movement in eAus that is NOT anxious to sell us out to the indos first opportunity.
Binda of course it can't last but wouldn't it be better if we make them fight & keep fighting to take what they want, rather than just giving them what they want like good little servants TJ would like us to be?
Without any allies they can take whatever they want from us, sure we can make them fight for it, but we won't win much (maybe we'd manage to get a region back every so often for a few days).
The fact of the matter is that this is not real life, there is no ocean in this game to separate us which they'd have to cross before landing troops and eAus is not massively richer than eIndo and not the regional hegemon rAus is.
first paragraph I see what you are saying
second paragraph sort of stating the bleeding obvious & pointless as well.
Ditch the second para & follow up on your first one - so you see any war as hopeless. Maybe, but I see any peace as hopeless as well but worse as it would be soul destroying (and that has nothing to do with RL)
TJ - I comes down to one thing - THERE IS NO PEACE PROPOSAL
You might be working your ass off, but you are working for what eAustralia doesn't want. Our allie Croatia just airstruck into our neighborhood. USA+Croatia+Aus>Indo.
We are in the best position that I have seen. Why give up now?
"Binda of course it can't last but wouldn't it be better if we make them fight & keep fighting to take what they want, rather than just giving them what they want "
Louise, we've tried to keep fighting in the past and just ended up broke with no regions. We've tried that a lot of times in the past. I certainly don't ever intend on giving them what they want without a fight though. I don't think anybody is saying that.
FYI - If we would have listened to TJ 30 days ago we would not have a congress.
Binda TJ is saying exactly that
I've been on that RL Server. It's not as interesting as Second Life or other servers. Really quite boring by comparison in some months. Logging out is more fun. I have some very entertaining dreams when I go to sleep.
But yes, I have been around long enough to see history repeat itself on many occasions. I have this to say about Indos. If they hate Australians, it is only because they are good roleplayers. And it is roleplaying that makes invading Australia over and over again not grind away at their conscience. It isn't that they hate Australians, or want to invade us. There are other countries they would much rather tussle with like eChina. But when they do, it doesn't end well for them.
As to peace? I agree that it will be a temporary thing. The Indos wish to fight other battles with other opponents. So do I! War with Indonesia can be a never ending thing. It gets boring for me, and I'm sure for them. So I say yes to peace but understand that it will not result in a lasting friendship. It is time for a little change.
This much is for sure, Larson. By the end of this term, we will either have our regions, or we won't. Since you're so hell bent and pigheaded have it your way. If we still have our regions - you won. Contrary to what you might think I really am over this shit.
"You might be working your ass off, but you are working for what eAustralia doesn't want"
Really? I take it you don't rely on govt funded supplies then? Funny how Jason, Binda and myself have been busy raising $ to have them.
"FYI - If we would have listened to TJ 30 days ago we would not have a congress. "
If you go back 2 weeks before that, listening to TJ would have prevented the loss of our regions and not required the 11th hour desperation to get it back. It's not without note that you happily profited from the Senate elections that term when far more active and worthy candidates across different parties missed out.
Pick a gear and stay in it for a while.
larson: Could you present some actual evidence of what you claim?
Actually I would be interested in how you have raised those $ TJ. You, Jason, Binda & all.
Or do you feel this is another personal attack on you Actually it isn't for you see I also am raising funds - well producing Q7 weapons.
Larson, if you need any to continue fighting for Aus, see me. There is a lot of stuff I can say here, but I will save that for the AUS forum. I just want any indos who happen to scan Aus newspapers to be aware that the views of TJ & others are NOT representative
Louise, TJ is referring to allied support using their own supplies which saved us a packet. We needed to use paid Mercenaries for very few of our battles, much to my surprise. I expected to have to completely drain the War Fund for what we achieved. However our allies were there for us and we didn't needed to go broke for it. : D
From looking at the map it looks like the indos are finished. Now i suggest we strike Thailand in the "Northern Thailand" region then the "Northern-Eastern " region and gradually making our way down Thailand. I choose those two as they are the both aluminium and also they are structural week points. While we attack from above our allies attack from below. One of them attacks Peninsular Malaysia and the other attacking the "Southern Thailand" region in Thailand.
Sorry about the spelling mistakes.
We already have Al (in Vic), remember that you only benefit from having one region of each resource, having two isn't going to give you twice the benefit.
Also we're going to be stretched occupying LSI (yes, it looks like we'll keep it for the moment, but for how long?).
But feel free to fight for any of our allies who need help (it was largely due to their support that we're independent).
Yeah i know about that we wouldn't benefit but we would still have more land. More land =more people = more work= more money.
Sounds like a plan Cooki, just keep in mind thou that the indos IRL have been observing one of their religious holidays - the US attack & our attack also was our version of a Yom Kippur war.
They will be back & probably full of eresentment - will do them good of course, but they certainly arn't finished. Be prepared for an all out attack & wipe with maybe eventually getting some of our regions back if we crawl enough.
The indo attack is a certainty - our response is the problem
No, it wouldn't mean more people, to get more people we either have to convince those of other countries to voluntarily move here, or get new members to join the game as eAussies.
Indo are far from finished, mate. Their population has yet to decrease and all they have to do is wait for USA to get bored. Croatia does make it interesting and certainly creates new options, but until we know exactly what we want - don't write off Indonesia too soon.
I thought it was finished because they have no land left? All we need to do now is defend from resistance.
We're probably not going to be able to prevent them from getting back LSI in the long run, even if we win this RW they'll just start another and eventually win that.
BTW: We had no land left at one point.
supereviloverlord -
around July 22th we were wiped (and Indo wanted to keep us that way). The senate started talks about the best way to have a senate. It was decided that the best way was to win RW from NZ, and then NE Indo right away so we could have first strike. We needed to hold Taz from 23rd through the 25th.
By NEing Indo first it gave us 24 hours to strike, then 12 + hours for that battle to be over and 12+ hours before they could take Taz.
Most of the seanate agreed.
TJ told us all how it wouldn't work and called Wingfield a PTO.
Brazil came to help shortly after that and then USA came after that.
IMO the best way for Indo not to attack us is having strong allies that will come and help.
