The future of the auserepublik.com website
Lord TJ
Dear citizens,
It has come to my attention that the future of the auserepublik.com website's ongoing facilitation is in question due to the leave of an eAus citizen. I am unsure of the accuracy of this information but as someone with the resources to help, if this is the case, I wanted to put it forward.
What am I prepared to do and not prepared to do?
In RL, I am a data host and am prepared to host the website on my servers if the domain owner is prepared to re-delegate it (aka "point" it) to my services in order to propagate it.
For a smooth transition, copies of all db files in MySQL or other database administration facility in the current public_html will be helpful.
I will NOT administer the database or website, design it or in any way keep it. I do not have the time. If required and accepted by the current domain and site owner, I am prepared to host it and keep it as an ongoing concern for the citizens of eAustralia. I would ask that experienced php CMS (board) administrators make the approach to continue it.
I leave it in the hands of the person(s) whom this concerns if they wish to avail themselves of my offer. FYI - I offer it without remuneration (i.e. free).
Cheers,
T. J.

This forum is XG's "child". He started it, paid (with some help from a couple of other guys) for it, invested time, effort etc. It's up to him and only him.
Anybody can start another aussie forum or make an offer to XG to buy this one so that the community isn't divided.
there's a forum thread as well. Anyone who cares should already have commented there.
That's a very community minded offer TJ, since the community is feeling quite abandoned at the moment. I will talk more with you on IRC.
TJ Norton, great article.
The ONLY question eAustralians need to ask is will XG stop being stubborn and actually hand the community forums back to the community?
I personally think he won't. He is waiting for us to rebuild the country so him and his mates can come back and control everything again.
The community needs to keep pressure on. Him and his mates have left the country so they should hand the forums over.
@ DD - ROFLMAO
I know your mentally handicapped and you have my pity, perhaps somebody can explain the concept of "OWNERSHIP" to you in a way that will allow your to understand. Unitl then, I recommend shutting up, your only making things worse.
@ XG - ROFLMAO
Hand the community forums over to the community, you are no longer part of the community friend.

Discrate your meaningless words are completly wasted unless you are prepared to back them up with RL money to assist in facilitation of such a body. The only real problem here is you Discrate not XG or the forums or the website hosting the forums. When you grow up and become a truely valuable member of the community you may actualy see what it is to be an Organised member of Society. IMO I doubt this will ever happpen as your far too childish to realize that the Community consists of more than just yourself.
lol claims that i am destroying the community by standing up to people like XG is rather amusing. Instead of actually recognizing what the problem is, you are pretending that me and my so called "wasted" words are the the reason why this community has gone to the crapper. It's also amusing that all the other people who hold the same views as me and who speak out as much as me don't get the same things said to them.
I guess it's just much easier to blame everything on a scape goat rather then actually acknowledging what the actual problem is.
It's so hilarious, the notion that me writing articles and comments has destroyed the country and not the fact that the elites have run the forum into the ground with their crappy managament etc
I personally thought you were smarter then that Sam. I guess not.
Sam, do you even know what the problem is atm? Do you actually know what everyone is arguing about? Because from your comments, it gives the impression you don't.
You are trying to say my articles and comments is what everyone is arguing and debating about lol.
As for your little comments about "contributing" the community, i contribute immensely to the community. People like you have no idea, unlike the elites, i don't go out flaunting how much i do for this community.
Who is the person who bought 100,000 AUD when the market was flooded with AUD? ME
Who bailed out the food market when food reached unbelievable high prices? ME
You wouldn't have a clue what i do. You really have no idea what's going on.
Kill the forum and start again. Simpler and with a lot less subforums...
😁😁
"Kill the forum and start again. Simpler and with a lot less subforums..."
HERE HERE
what are forums and does anyone really need to be involved??
Discrate = Me Me Me = Elitest Arrogance = Failure to recognicse that he does very little for the community.
As if you buying 100k AUD has anything to do with this. As for you controling Market Prices (LMAO).
From your comments it would seem that it is you that is the problem Discrate as you seem to think that eAus would fail without your insestent Trolling and Idiotic mentality. Not that it bothers me. Hell if you wanna help cause more problems than you help solve go ahead no one is going to stop you from doing so. Soon to be eDiscrateville will be such a lovely place to be.
eDiscrateville = dog free
😁^ o/
"Discrate as you seem to think that eAus would fail without your insestent Trolling and Idiotic mentality."
No i don't think that. It is YOU who thinks that.
Do you even read your own comments? You are claiming that me writing comments and articles has ruined the country and brought it down.
Make up your mind.
Ok lads .. this took a bad turn fast.
First thing's first - I couldn't care less about personality conflicts, the why the's and therefore's of its merits etc.
Re "buying" anything off of anyone, that's completely out of the question. My own personal view is if someone wants to kill a community project, however ill-intentioned, if they put up the $15 a year (market rate) for the domain and decided to pay over-inflated hosting prices - that's on them.
My only interest is continuing to host a site for eausrepublik and provide continuity. If the current owner (i.e. the person who purchased the domain and pays the hosting, etc) wants to let it go, cést la vie.
Regardless of what happens here, I am in the process of working with other experienced forum operators from eAus to provide a militia website and toss around some other ideas.
That's my view as a host. Now, as an eAus citizen.
I think anyone who has put that much effort into something and is about to pull the plug, if that is indeed as true as the consistent rumours throughout put them as - or more to the point IDGAFF, would like to see that go on.
As far as the continuity of community access is concerned as it is part of our eAustralian fabric, the position of the owner needs to be publicly stated so the eAus community can make an informed decision about the future of its electronic services.
TJ, you are better off to discuss this privately with the forum owner, XG.
I thought XG would have seen this as doing him a favour but obviously not. I've done my bit and that's it. All I can say is I hope he's prepared to keep paying for it from his own pocket. Such is life.
