The Four E's of eRepublik

Day 1,708, 18:06 Published in Thailand Thailand by Mystela

The title is a lie but the cake doesn't have to be!

Within the main parameters of a text based, sandbox game,

- a loosely defined endgame, influenced by real life at worst, naturally unattainable at best
- free to play progression through a personal selection of voluntary missions, although real life currency is encouraged for the completion of some
- content which is primarily user generated, too often negatively interfered with by the devs
- a persistent world to experiment with & play in, where all players' actions, big or small, have an impact
- solo play friendly, grouping necessary to overcome major opponents

eRep, even with its decent sized player base, has been missing the mark, resulting in a cyclical player Exodus.

Hopefully, just as in the past, honest & knowledgeable players, with the time, energy & foresight necessary, will continue to attempt to devise Exciting, Engaging & Entertaining ways in which to stem the flow, using minimum real life currency, allowing for all players to fully participate in the evolution of this new world, so near to extinction.

With that in mind, I think eRep's summer season even if derailed, has so far been successful. While the program may not have been as far reaching as intended, many teams from all over the eWorld have had a chance to participate in the fall out, positively impacting the game's featured modules in several ways.

Military - In addition to the creation & revitalization of many MU's, most military units have seen increasing numbers of participants, allowing for some exciting, close call conflicts, even among smaller nations.
Media - Yellow journalism notwithstanding, there's been an increase in the quantity & in general, the quality of media published & subsequently, a renewed interest & response by the readership. Some vibrant, new writers have emerged as well. 😛
Political - I'm guessing that political parties have seen a comparable increase in their membership. Certainly the political scene is alive with many more players, including new faces among the veterans, expressing their interest in the political process.
Economic - I'm not great with economics so I could be wrong, but I'm guessing there must also have been a spike upwards in the benefits to be reaped in the monetary markets.
Social - I don't participate in the meta game, but judging from the numerous leaked irc logs, the various feeds, the many references to off site forums & the media commentary, I think it's fair to say that there has been a marked increase in the social interactions of many players.
Admin, Developers - Launching back-to-back promos, the Admin have taken advantage of the increased summer activity. No doubt they are satisfied with the new, player generated content & with sales to date. With the summer nearly half over, I'm hoping they find room in their constricted hearts, to participate in the development of the new additions to the line up, with something innovative of their own.

A special thank you to the team from eIndia for their awesome sense of humour & the great wars!

Personally, the greatest success of all provided by the program, has been the return to the game of many of the old faces, names from the past that light up the screen & make me smile when I see them there. Among many, three of my all-time favourite stars are still MIA. If any of you gentlemen are looking through the back door, reading this, then I hope to see you here soon. I miss you.

So, overall, with a view toward a new dynamic guide, instead of the same old, tired reruns, the eRep summer season has been meeting my expectations. I look forward to a new & challenging, total player encompassing fall season.

Kudos to all of the eNations' executive teams & assorted players involved, with a special mention to Evry, the 5th & much maligned E, having had to bear the brunt & take the fall, in practise & in truth, to be The Running Man.

tl;dr
Exodus / Evry = Exciting, Engaging, Entertaining : cake delivery for Everyone!

To my Thai players wherever you are, Aroi mak ka!

To my worthy adversaries everywhere, behold the cake, the cake is not a lie!
