I wrote "The Fall of KMP" and it was supposed to be both an eulogy and a news report. But in writing it in prose, I've been accused of complaining.
How thin is the line between a news report and complaint?
How do I not cross it?
Is the author always dead?

First of all, no one is accusing you of anything, there's no reason to do that.
Second, reporting means reporting what happened, and what you did is add your personal opinion there. You should have know that that can cause discussion, and was seen by some people as complaining.
You don't cross the line when you report actual facts leaving your opinion out of it. That's because news reports are suposed to be as objective as possible. Also, because you used the term "we" for KMP it is seen as you are taking a side in the matter, something a news reporter should avoid as much as possible.

I've been accused of by Marie and Hanibal of complaining, so your first sentence is completely wrong.
The rest of your comment is spot on.
There's a huge diference between accusation and a constatation.
When a statement (We're here to stay so stop complaining) that starts out from an unproven assertion (DragoonXRyu is complaining), the unproven assertion becomes an accusation wouldn't it?
What's the difference? Subject? Motive? Component of Malice?
