Thank you eQueensland!

Day 1,222, 06:08 Published in Australia Australia by Lord TJ

My fellow eQueenslanders

Thanks to your trust, I have made the quota and subsequently been elected as one of your Senators in the eAustralian Congress.

For those around the country who for some reason weren't aware, today was the RL New South Wales general election. Sadly, the same success cannot be crossed-over to that of my colleagues. It's certainly an unparalleled event to today's success in eRep.

In this virtual experiment, this is not a role I take lightly and I thank those who helped with my campaign and voted for me. In you, and eAustralia, I trust.

The ANP, my party, has achieved over 40% support of the new Senate. This is 11% down from the previous election, but is to be expected with the vacuum created from historic Senators not standing for re-election and the addition of a new major party. Although we have lost an outright majority, the ANP maintains it's position of being the largest parliamentary caucus in its own right.

That said, the politics and partisanship is now over for another term - now it's about working together. As promised, I will work to deliver a good working relationship with the other Senators across the aisle in the best interests of Queensland and eAustralia.

This is the first time I have been elected to office in eRepublik, but not in e-nation history. As the non-consecutive fourth and last President of a now-former online republic, I am familiar with governance and leadership in the digital realm. I am grateful for the support of my militia - the KnightHawks - and the camaraderie built with so many. Some of which I will have the pleasure of working with now in the new Senate term. My thanks are with each and every one of you.

I will regularly post to the people some reports on Senate business and what's happening in your House of Congress. My election tonight is not mine to enact - it's the people and my party that I faithfully represent.

For eAustralia and the Great State of Queensland, I thank you again. I look forward to this, my first term in office.
