Let's just say this: Vice Presidential choices are political footballs.



The most ideal choice for a VPP, really, is probably someone from your own Political Party.

This is hardly 16 Shells breaking news.

So the LAST thing you are going to get from me is some glowing report about how Sir Valaro Volcrum would be my first choice to babysit my children during a hurricane or whatever. Outside of the time we've spent in IRC talking through a run for the White House, some real life likes/dislikes (I'm a Little House on the Prarie fan, he likes Battlestar Galactica), and the random potshot at how full-on-rediculous Ajay is... well, I guess I am getting to know him actually, but it's not like we're swapping spit in the showers.
So I want to keep this real.
Here is why I am SVV's running mate, roughly in order of importance:

1: SVV is going to be a damn fine PoTUS because he's learned through experience.

I have made some mistakes in my eRepublik career. I once endorsed the TOTALLY wrong candidate for Federalist Party President, and unfortunately that endorsement probably carried the election. My bad. So I learned to think things through a little better. I think SVV has gone through a similar journey.

A few months ago I would have said “NO” to SVV if he had asked. At that time I disliked how he was treating INCI, especially in his shouts. Frankly, at that time INCI gave eUSA more than a few good reasons NOT to trust them. But INCI was playing this game within the rules and have always played it well. I recognized that. Glove recognized that.

And time has shown that those of us who wanted to work with INCI were right. Cyprus has become a TOP BRO. I know from personal conversations with SVV that he regrets his misjudgment of INCI. I know a lot of people in this game (and in real life) whose hubris blinds them to their past mistakes. SVV learns from them like a man. After a month off, he came back and has treated everyone with utmost respect and decorum. If SVV couldn’t work shoulder to shoulder with every eAmerican, I would have said, “NO”.

He’s still got an enemy or two out there, one guy in particular whose bullhorn tactics say more about his own hubris than any shortcoming of SVV. Ignore the detractors. Sir Valaro Volcrum is a helluva guy and as long as he doesn’t show them Battlestar Galactica, he can babysit my kids afterall as long as he’s willing to work for cheap.

The INCI situation is only one example of how SVV has evolved as a player. I know of several other examples I could share that would further illustrate how he has matured into a deserving leader.

Tl;dr – SVV was wrong about INCI like most of you who are reading this were also wrong about INCI. He’s not only changed his attitudes about them but he’s done so in the most Presidential way, with humility and concern. SVV4CP because both he and I have learned wisdom from experience.


2: He has not treated me like a Political Football.

I was shocked, frankly, when he came right out of the box and gave me equal input in building his Cabinet. Political Footballs don’t get treated with this kind of respect. SVV actually wants Gnilraps for VPP, not just Feds to vote for SVV. The result is a Cabinet that is going to reflect my love for diversity as well as his excellent eye for talent and dedication. Just watch. You are gonna LOVE our Cabinet. I’m still like every other Vice President - a Political Football, but I can honestly say that there’s much more going on than just politics as usual.

Tl;dr – seriously? It’s one paragraph. Read it.


3: I love a good clean fight.

If you spend any time with us Federalists, you have heard my three favorite words: Integrity, Decorum, Achievement. Those three ideals perfectly describe the Federalist Party.

But more than that, they are ideal guideposts for our eNation. There is so much absolute CRAP flying around lately, and you know what I am talking about. Worse, there is the attitude that NOTHING IS GONNA CHANGE. I beg to differ. Better yet, I beg to be given the kind of platform wherefrom I can lead the change that I KNOW can HAPPEN.

There are a few haters out there who for their own private reasons will grind their dull axe about why I can’t/shouldn’t do this. Trololol. There is only misery in hatred, so let the haters be miserable. And, “Hey Trolls – I’m not gonna reply.”

No the “clean fight” I am eager for is already upon us. It is a battle which involves principled thinkers, stubborn hearts, and impassioned gamers. It’s a perfect recipe for success. And if you want a good reference from someone who KNOWS FIRSTHAND that I stand to succeed at bridging a disagreement, just ask Soren Nelson. He’s been my closest confidant in this game and I’ve been one of his. He’ll tell you what I can get done.

Tl;dr –
That being said, and by some miracle you still reading, here is what I will do as Vice President of the eUnited States of America:

1 – I will hold Sir Valaro Volcrum accountable. He will get a major dose of Federalist Proud/Horny Whoopass if he wavers on his Campaign promises or proposes any course of action that will potentially hamper our progress as an eNation. He asked me to be his running mate and he knew what he was getting into. I’m not gonna change.

2 – I will be GAME ON all month. I agreed to do this because my real life schedule is pretty easy this month. I’ve prepared my monthly schedule so that SVV knows exactly when I will NOT be able to be relied upon (for instance, don’t mess with my Sunday mornings or my Kids’ bedtimes. They are sacred and > eRep.) September is going to be my MONSTER eRep month.

3 – I am going to stick my nose into the Military Funding Crisis. I will parlay whatever clout comes with being Vice President into some positive change. I will not promise a particular outcome. But I will guarantee that this landscape will be significantly groomed by the end of our month, and I have hope that the outcome will increase the Military strength of the eUSA. I actually have a plan for this.

4 – I will be available to SVV for what he needs when he needs it within the boundaries I’ve set with him. We’ve talked about what that means and he has made arrangements with a Senior Advisor to be available during those times I cannot be. eUSA will be in excellent hands 24/7 all month.

5 – I will place the needs and security of the eUSA above the needs and agenda of my personal ingame character. Don’t f*ck with my Real Life kids, but if “Gnilraps” misses out on a hard worker medal because I am too busy doing what needs doing… whatever. eUSA COMES FIRST.
I thought the playing field was good two months ago when Black Keating and Technician faced off with Thedillpickle also in the mix.

But you have to admit, there has not been a more difficult choice for PoTUS than what you have this month. Alexander_Auctoritas and Paul Proteus are great eAmericans. But neither of them will do a better job of managing the Oval Office than Sir Valaro Volcrum will, and I will make sure of it.
