Suileabhain for ANA PP

Day 657, 22:01 Published in South Africa Ireland by Suileabhain

I have decided to run for the office of ANA Party President in the coming elections. I and provide a new face and direction for the party. I am going to use this article to outline my goals and platform for the party.

First of all, I pledge to dedicate my time fully to the roll of Party President. As long as I hold the office, I promise to not seek election to either Congress of Country President. All of my political energy will be spent to grow the ANA and get our candidates elected.

Below I am going to go over the platform I will push forward as party president. These are the policies that I see the ANA as standing for. As party president, I would work my hardest to see candidates who support these policies elected to public office.

Taxes:
Income taxes should be low across the board. I would like to see 3% as the upper limit on income taxes, with 1% being the preferred level. We should not tax income heavily since income taxes are basically taxes on productivity, and productivity should be encouraged, not discouraged. Lowering income taxes can have several positive effects. It will reduce the cost of running business in eSA - thus attracting more companies to our nation. It will also allow workers to keep a larger amount of their earnings - thus attracting more workers to our nation. Both of these will grow our economy and have the potential to produce more tax revenue in the future.

Import taxes on any raw material not produced in eSA should be as low as possible. We need to make it possible for companies that use these raw materials to purchase them an still remain competitive. This is one goal that has already been achieved by the current government, and the ANA should have no reason to change this.

Import taxes on raw materials produced in eSA and all finished goods should be set in the range of 25% to 35%. There is no reason why a eSA gift company should need to purchase foreign diamonds. Also, increased Import taxes will help us to protect / grow our local industries and encourage our citizens to buy locally produced goods. In the future, these tariffs might be reviewed an lowered, but as of now, this would be the best option to support our fledgling economy.

Value Added Taxes on all goods should be set to around 15%. In my opinion, a tax on consumption is the best way to fund the eSA government.

Foreign Relations:
As a nation, we need strong relations with our neighboring countries. We are a small nation, and are not in the position to take on other nations. Our security relies on being able to maintain peace with our neighbors. Our current MPPs should be renewed when they expire, and we should work on increasing the number of MPPs we have. We should also continue and strengthen our relationship with the SOL alliance. The SOL war games and the experience they offer are very important to building our nation’s armed forces. It would be a proud day for eSA if some day we were admitted as a member nation in the SOL alliance.

Territorial Liberation:
The former eSA territories still held by other nations need to be returned. The ANA will support all efforts to return our land to its rightful owners. I know the current president has publically stated his intention to do this, and in this area he will have the full backing of the ANA.

Immigration:
The key to a growing an vibrant eSA is increasing the number of eCitizens who call eSA home. Our nations tax policy can be changed to produce an environment attractive to immigrants. The government should also be advertising what a wonderful place eSA is to make sure the world knows what it is like here. Also, citizenship should be granted to all who demon straight their intentions to work hard and help build our country, regardless of their political beliefs.

If you're a member of the ANA and agree with this platform I urge you to vote for Suileabhain for ANA Party President. If you agree, but are not a member, take a look (or a second look) at the ANA. We can always use new members, and the eSA government needs a strong and loyal opposition party.
