Some advice for the DSP

Day 1,216, 21:29 Published in Australia Australia by Lord TJ

This is directed to the DSP and their launch into eAus politics. I have read every single communiqué released to date and there are some themes in your messages that you should take the time to consider.

As a politico in RL, here are some thoughts you might like to take note of.

Public relations and identity marketing

When trying to establish yourself as a presence, let people get to know you as a party before you come out with the negative ads or verbiage that can be perceived that way. New parties have the advantage to get a clean slate out there compared to established parties. However, established parties can break that edge because they have street cred.

In a nutshell - new parties have the loyalty of nearly no one. Play it safe until/if you achieve a viable listening base. You're no where near that yet.

Now, in terms of policy.

All ideas are good to kick around, but there is a troubling pattern emerging from DSP's releases. The party has released several thoughts and initiatives, but let's not confuse an "idea" with actual "policy".

An "idea" or "goal" is something to be hoped for. A "policy" outlines how that will be put into action, any offsets required to achieve the end game and what, if any, impact it will have to current bipartisan initiatives or legislation.

Some of your ideas are progressive in thought and you haven't pointed out HOW they will be implemented in an in-game scenario that fits in with the operation and functions of the site.

eRep is, after all, a market-financed and military-driven game. i.e. it's a game theory encompassing capitalism. To say you're doing away with, or weakening the capitalist model, is to challenge the site itself.

Take heed. I am an ANP member and have moderate capitalist tendencies, but at the end of the day we all have to work within the site's framework. At first, the DSP was an interesting concept. Now, I am very concerned this may be a movement that doesn't have sufficient insight into that and will press the 'Rage' button if elected and later find out that repealing a capitalist model is easier said than done.

Cheers!
