Some advice for the DSP
Lord TJ
This is directed to the DSP and their launch into eAus politics. I have read every single communiqué released to date and there are some themes in your messages that you should take the time to consider.
As a politico in RL, here are some thoughts you might like to take note of.
Public relations and identity marketing
When trying to establish yourself as a presence, let people get to know you as a party before you come out with the negative ads or verbiage that can be perceived that way. New parties have the advantage to get a clean slate out there compared to established parties. However, established parties can break that edge because they have street cred.
In a nutshell - new parties have the loyalty of nearly no one. Play it safe until/if you achieve a viable listening base. You're no where near that yet.
Now, in terms of policy.
All ideas are good to kick around, but there is a troubling pattern emerging from DSP's releases. The party has released several thoughts and initiatives, but let's not confuse an "idea" with actual "policy".
An "idea" or "goal" is something to be hoped for. A "policy" outlines how that will be put into action, any offsets required to achieve the end game and what, if any, impact it will have to current bipartisan initiatives or legislation.
Some of your ideas are progressive in thought and you haven't pointed out HOW they will be implemented in an in-game scenario that fits in with the operation and functions of the site.
eRep is, after all, a market-financed and military-driven game. i.e. it's a game theory encompassing capitalism. To say you're doing away with, or weakening the capitalist model, is to challenge the site itself.
Take heed. I am an ANP member and have moderate capitalist tendencies, but at the end of the day we all have to work within the site's framework. At first, the DSP was an interesting concept. Now, I am very concerned this may be a movement that doesn't have sufficient insight into that and will press the 'Rage' button if elected and later find out that repealing a capitalist model is easier said than done.
Cheers!
Comments
Socialists tends to live in a world of fantasy and idealism, so this is nothing new.
What I was trying to point out is that their marketing will likely cause problems. I've love a slab of gold too but they haven't even released their treasury spokesperson's projection of structure Vs. cost. Without the detail, the hinted rate of spending would break the public purse and raise taxes.
> TJ Norton giving out advice to a political party
LOL
I know right! I figured it was time for eAus politics to be more pro.
Interesting
Thanks TJ interesting Idea's there.
I have said before, We are trying to work out what our future policies are and we are still working out how we can implement them them onto erep! Remember we are still only new, And with the negative stuff that has been going with delusional paranoid ATO it doesnt help, We are trying to re assure that we are not just all talk. But it doesnt help when everyone is against us!
But thanks for the advice, we will work towards what you expect of us, And we will becoming more than just a word.
Rise as one-Stand United xD
Seperate comment here: Communism is an example of you saying we challenge the site. Let's start with the market, it operates through buyers and sullers. Communism is wrong to think it can say 'I CONTROL THE MARKET NAOW!' that's not what we're about, we're about changing the way the market and government is run WITHIN THE CONSTRUCT (what we can actually do on the site to improve the economy and government)
"I know right! I figured it was time for eAus politics to be more pro."
You know absolutely nothing about eAustralian politics and you would be the last one to give advice. That was my point friend 🙂
😁^LOL
"And with the negative stuff that has been going with delusional paranoid ATO"
Hardly delusional, not like someone who has no evidence to make accuse an organization who spent months getting the country back. Oh well people really are stupid these days.
I have seen parties say the exact same thing. Until i see result i will remain skeptical.
"You know absolutely nothing about eAustralian politics and you would be the last one to give advice."
I understand Dis that you're against new people having a different opinion to you, hence why you have the reputation for being one of eAus's leading trolls. Sooner or later though, you need to accept that the eUniverse does not revolve around you bud. You're not exactly the litmus test one would use to gauge what is and isn't good advice ;-o)
This is not real life :/
I AM REAL LIFE
I will be Kicking real life 😁^
RL FTW!
Thanks for the advice.
We have released any official policies to the general public yet, most are just floating around our forums as proposals while we amend them and vote on them; then there's things like the economy fund that we want to test before even proposing as a working policy.
We're still working on amendments for our military reform policies, I can publish the first couple of drafts if you want to see how we wish to implement things.
As for going against the game's model, we know that not every bit of socialism works. For now its trial and error to see what we can make work (with things like the trial I mentioned earlier), while some things we're almost certain we can make them work. So its basically just socialist ideals we use, and not every socialist-related thing.
I'll publish the official policies we have so far in a couple of days so you can see what I'm talking about a little clearer.
