Join the new world

After a brief campaign for succeeding Rocco Baldelli as USWP Party President after he had to step down for personal reasons I must say that I'm quite taken aback at this turn of events and it is very unexpected as I just returned from a very full day of hearings in RL where I was drug to court today (a day that I'm only on-call) and worked from 11:30am to 11:30pm with very little break. So I'm shocked to see how much has happened in the last 12 hours.

When I first started eRep ... not terribly long ago (maybe a month before V1) I never thought there would ever be anyway that I could get elected to Congress or even better elected to be the President of a Party (let alone the largest party in the world). While I realize that this is an interim position I have already entered my name into the ring for formal elections later this month if you will have me continue as your Party President. I will serve in this position to the best of my ability but I will be efficient and stingy with my time when it comes to things like IRC when I have other duties to fulfill in promoting our interests in Congress, in the eUSA Court System, and in the eUSA Forums in general as a prominent member in many discussions there. Any time that you wish me to meet with you in IRC please request it and understand that I will do so to the best of my ability and my work schedule (which is quite chaotic at times).

I want to help this Party to continue to grow and to be perceived as a Party that has something to offer to all citizens of the eUSA. We have started many great programs under our current and past leadership that have given us greater visibility and prestige such as the USWP Wellness Program and internally our excellent PAC and Communications Programs. I would like to see these programs grow and to add new programs such as a Mediation Program to mediate disputes between eUSA citizens and a Business Outreach Program to assist new and struggling business owners. We have the numbers and resources to make these things possible.

Speaking of the Business Program. I would like to ask AidenAstrup to fill the position in our Executive Board formerly occupied by Makowski as the new Business Affairs Director of the USWP. This is assuming that he is willing to accept the job and is able to finish up his workings with the Wellness Center. I hope that he can recommend a suitable replacement for himself upon leaving the Wellness Center as he has done a tremendous job there during his tenure.

Additionally, Jordan will need to have a successor for Communications Director and I can think of no better person than Inwegen who served faithfully with Jordan during the time when the USWP was recently under attack with the smear campaign orchestrated by William Shafer and other enemies of the USWP over President Rocco's positions on the war with France which this party adopted.

In the mean time. If Jordan wishes to remain the button pusher in eRepublik for the Party President position I see no problem with this. He has served the party well and I think that he is just as capable as me when it comes to formally endorsing Uncle Sam and USWP EB Member GoBucks as the next President and Vice-President of the eUSA. When Uncle Sam and GoBucks win the Presidential election we will need another member to step forward to assume GoBucks' position as the Director of our PAC Program. I assume that GoBucks will recommend a successor.

I see no reason to change anything else in the Executive Board. ProggyPop has been an excellent Chief of Staff, GoBucks has done a hell of a job with the PAC, Tdwester has served us well as the Institute Director, and I intend to remain as the head of the Legal Department for the time being until I am either elected to Party President in a general election or until such time that we get a suitable replacement with legal training to head up the position.

I encourage questions, criticism, and most of all critical thinking of our members. We are not zombies ... we are a party united to better the citizens of eRepublik and to provide a more stable and interesting environment in which to spend our time and further our friendships and other benefits that we all share while working together to build something greater than the 2-click mode of play provides.
