Running for reelection - A summary of this month

Hello and happy Easter everyone! This month I am running for for my second term as President of Norway.
This is something I have confirmed before , but today I am officially announcing it. I hope you will put your trust in me again this coming period


This month

I truly believe Norway is on a path to a brighter future. This month I have had to make some hard choices and a few unpopular decisions. However in hindsight I do not see a different outcome that would be better for our nation.
If our country is a ship and I am her captain, then we are slowly but steadily sailing towards harbour. There may be some storms ahead, but we are on the right path. I do not pretend to take credit for this. I am merely continuing the work of the ones who have stood at the helm before me, people like Tommy Skaue and Stakerauo .


My first days

It would be an understatement to say I dd not get a soft start to my first term as President.
Before anyone got a chance to congratulate me, Russia started an NE-vote against us. My ingame message-box filled up quickly, my Skype got a few more contacts and my mIRC lit up like a christmas tree. After a couple of hectic days we finally reached an agreement with Russia.



Sweden

I’m not the one to stand neutral in issues like this. I had to take a stand. I could either allow Russia to attack and disappoint our Swedish bothers or I could deny them and risk a war between EDEN and Terra. No matter what choice I made there would be war. The NE-vote would be answered.
I did what I felt would be best for Norway. I gave my consent for Russia - our ally - to attack Sweden.
Naturally it did not improve our relationship with Sweden.

Congress

This month we elected our first Congress in months, not only that, but over 90% of the elected are loyal Norwegian citizens. If that was not a big enough slap in the face for Vikinzi, then a couple of days later the Donation Limit was raised to 400K. We now have the necessary funding for our military and various social programs.
This congress has been one of the most united I have ever seen. We see the importance of good lines of communication and working together. Our biggest strength as a nation is the ability to put petty rivalry aside and worked together as one when we are faced with a crisis. This is why we have why we have survived so long and why we will continue to survive. Why we will continue to fight.
I am especially happy to see that for more than a few, this is their first term in Congress and they have shown an interest in our politics. I hope and believe this will be the start of many a political career.

Goventment

This period I have had the privilege to work with a very dedicated, talented and hard-working cabinet .
My VP Che Kukaken has been very active on the forums, irc and military, but was relatively new to politics. He has learned quickly and have been an essential part of the government. You can trust that whenever I am afk, the country is still in capable hands.
Taulen is one of the most experienced players en eNorway and was always been a soldier and a military leader. We have all lost count of how many times he has been MoD. He is a cornerstone not only in our defence, but also in our community.
Fredrikz is also a very experienced player and have been MoF more than a dozen times. He was the architect behind the plan that allowed us to have a congress again.
Before my Presidency when I was MoFA of Norway, Per Jostein was vMoFA. Together we worked as a team and I could not have asked for a better vice minister. He reminded me of deadlines, wrote very good articles, did a lot of the day to day organizing and came up with many ideas. Despite this being his first term as Minister he stepped up from day one and the FA Ministry has been running smoothly ever since.
Ursidae Polar - in addition to serving as vMoF, continuing his work as Director of Kickstart Norway and Administrator of eRepublik.no- have taken initiative and responsibility in a lot of crucial tasks.
Last but not least, I have been given a lot of support and advice from Tommy Skaue and Stakerauo . It has been very much appreciated.

Even though this has been a good month we must not become to complacent.



Challenges next month

Norway may be faced with a treath from Hungary, we cannot allow them to reach our borders and must start to fight already now.
We have started an MPP with Germany in order to help them and we will also form on with Croatia again.
The two most important decisions I have to make next month are: continuing our deal with Russia or go back to working with Finland and holding Congress elections or not.
Finland is one of (if not the) closest allies we have, they always have and continue to support us.
Russia did an outstanding job in the days before our congress election. They acted with military precision and timed to the minute. Our relationship with them has improved immensely and they are earning the trust we are placing in them. A big thank you the new Russian CP nimnul .
This month we caught the PTOers with surprise, this is not likely to happen again. With Serbia now having a congress a lot of VIkinzi have left Norway and gotten Serbian citizenship. In the meantime we have accepted some old friends and loyal Norwegians that have returned or have started their eLife in other nations. Even though we are now stronger than in a long time compared to them, holding elections or not is a decision that must not be taken lightly.
