I've been asked by President Winston Hope Smith to start this referendum.
I will keep the introductions to the minimum as the majority of people will already know what this is all about.
However, I have been asked to make one specific point very clear: that this is a consultative vote and it is still up to the President to decide whether or not to accept the results.
This referendum is on our membership of EDEN. You have 3 quite self-explanatory options:
STAY
LEAVE
ABSTAIN
A simple majority (50%+1) is needed to pass this referendum.
Please vote by PMing my account, and leaving a simple STAY, LEAVE or ABSTAIN will suffice.
This vote will remain open for 24 hours.

Pushing this EDEN v COT thing is only going to make life easy for TWO to roll over everyone.

That would certainly shake things up. = P
I'd be nice to see Ireland in CoT, if only because you know Canada isn't going to do anything interesting and I'd MUCH rather fight for Ireland anyway.
Is voting to abstain the same as voting to stay? Or do we need >50% L|S+L?
Voting to abstain is saying you are okay with either option. Personally, I abstained because I will always fight for eireland, no matter what it's alliance affiliation is.
The percentages should just compare stay vs leave, and the abstentions should only be there to count total participation in the poll.

The percentage should just count stay vs leave.
The abstains count toward total participation, but should carry no weight in the poll percent. Think of the abstentions as half a vote for stay and half a vote for leave. It's a 50/50 vote, so it will not change the outcome.

So this isn't a referendum, this is an opinion poll for the CP.
Because alliance membership is a decision by Population, Dail and CP.

TBH this should be a command to the next CP not to inform them but tell them what the public wants and its the CP's duty to carry out that desire. The people running for CP should know that and if they are unwilling to carry out the publics desire then withdraw from the race.
Its the same as when we voted to join EDEN, public voted and said to join so we did, it wasn't a consultation its a referendum not a survery.

MUFC : Yep, I have, I'd just like to see all the candidates state their position.
I don't think other candidates are even serious tbh.
Also, after this thing called "survey" I'll have to organise a real referendum first day in office if I win. All this could have been already done now, we'll look like idi*ts with two "referendums" in three days.
Tbh WHS should have done this at start of term, instead of doing it now and handing it over to the next CP.
Its just handing him a diplomatic mess.
I would be for a new allaince with other "little" EDEN countries like Albania, Belarus, Portugal etc.
