Propoganda: A Congressman's view

Day 613, 20:58 Published in USA USA by Arkandy

Welcome to another great edition of the USA National Magazine! In this edition, we were able to get an interview with former congressman Tyler Jenkins. I asked him a series of questions revolving PEACE propaganda and the world war.
--
Dunkle Black: How do you feel about PEACE propaganda? How much effect do you believe it has on the Fortis/Eden nations?

Tyler Jenkins: I believe that propaganda, when used right, can be a useful tool in times of war. It can often affect morale, and in some cases, change a citizens opinion of his/her eCountry altogether. PEACE propaganda, however, has been a part of our media for so long and has become so overused, that it's tiresome rhetoric is very easy to spot and as such, doesn't seem all that effective. I have yet to see it really affect the outcome of a battle and/or change the sentiments of our citizens as a whole.

Dunkle Black: What is the position of leadership within your community? Are you a member of congress or are you just locally looked-up to?

Tyler Jenkins: I am a former congressman from Montana, but after serving one term, I grew very tired of the political posturing and partisan bickering that I chose to leave office and not seek re-election. Since leaving office, most of my focus has been to attempt to help newer players starting out by welcoming them and making myself available to their questions and needs. I am also currently a member of the eUS Airborne and proud to serve our great eCountry.

Dunkle Black: Which military strategy do you believe is the strongest and will ultimately prevail, and why?

Tyler Jenkins: While we have taken our losses, I believe that the President, Commander Harlot and their team are on the right track. Clearly, the offensive strategy has proved itself and I think it's important to take note of how much gold we've spent compared to PEACE. They have outspent us 2 (possibly 3) to 1, and at some point, gold runs out. I believe this gives us a very good chance of holding our ground, fighting back the enemy, and possibly making a push into their territory.

Dunkle Black: If you could send one message to the people of both sides, each one different, what would it be and why?

Tyler Jenkins: I recently wrote an article entitled "We Are Better Than That" in my newspaper "The American Critic" (shameless plug). The point of the article was to remind citizens on both sides that while we may have our eCountry differences, it is important to respect one another and leave real life politics, etc. out of the game. So, as to my message: I would tell both sides to remember that this is just a game and that there is no place for real life hatred, prejudice, or discrimination here in eRepublik.

Dunkle Black: Finally, what advice would you give to new players, like me, or those players with low Wellness, to get their Wellness up and how to gain fame with in their communities? Please try to be specific as possible, as most new players have common knowledge of things such as to work and train every day.

Tyler Jenkins: My advice to the newer players would be to learn as much as they possibly can. This will make your gaming experience much more enjoyable. The best way to do this is by taking the time to read the wiki articles and by asking more established players questions. I would also recommend that newer players take some initiative in meeting new people. Not only will you make friends, but you'll find things to be much easier when you have a few allies on your side. Joining the military is a very good way of meeting those people, I might add. The final thing I'd say is, always believe you can accomplish your goals here. If you work hard enough anything can be achieved.

Thank you so much Tyler Jenkins for your time, thank you so much readers for keeping the USA National Magazine alive, and thank you so much to all the wonderful warriors of the Fortis/Eden nations and their allies! May we regain all our fallen territories. Keep believing and keep fighting!
