Things of wonder and thoughts of idle...

Play: b. The gestures of cock birds to attract hens

I joined the media mogul project and stalled at about 300 subs, I always friended those I subbed and had the pleasure of being the thousandth subber once so far. Now that I have picked up my activity ingame, it is pleasing to see the number climb slowing, that was until someone unsubbed me recently. My arguments for playing our game here are sound, though players arguing against me aren't even bothering to be accurate in there assessments... Who is trolling whom?

Gape-seed : In sarcastic phrases, seek, buy or gape-seed; to stare gapely at a fair or market, instead of transacting useful business. "the novelty grew stale"

William "Billy" Mitchell (December 29, 1879 – February 19, 1936); In March 1912, after assignments in the Philippines and Alaska Territory that saw him tour battlefields of the Russo-Japanese War and conclude that war with Japan was inevitable one day (Wikipedia).

Somewhere in an alternative timeline, Oceania 1918.

As our commander set about getting our affairs in order, Loose Cannon and I took the opportunity to see what was a foot, Loose had an invite for us at a beach camp fire, he had spent his day getting his attire fixed and looked, well rather intimidating, with the bones of someones hands sticking out of each nostril (was it intentional that the hands were on the wrong side, I didn't dare ask), nor was I surprised to learn later the main course was a Jesuit who had washed ashore earlier in the day. I personally was more interested in hearing the a debate the Islanders' council had setup between an American and Japanese, survivors of the battle for Truk the previous spring, as to which side had won the debacle...(to be continued)

The Loose Cannon did share!

Phoenix Quinn section: Game play, my dictionary hasn't helped me in expressing my thoughts on the subject. What really got me thinking, is a scene from "Thin Red Line" (the 2nd of James Jones' Trilogy and the only one I haven't read), where the children of an island pick up pebbles and place them in the next pile, they are in a circle and do this exercise (play) in unison. The following scene the adult are rowing their vessels, are the children preparing themselves to work together... What does this game prepare anyone for?
