PCP - Party President Manifesto

Day 2,424, 04:42 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by chaznoodles

The Party President elections are coming up in the next few days, and it's time for the PCP to regain it's spot in the top five! In this PP manifesto, I will explain my ideas for the betterment of the People's Communist Party, as well as what I would hope to achieve by the end of the political term.

Communication

Within the PCP, communication has been lacking as of late. If I was elected as the Party President, I would attempt to encourage use of the PCP IRC as well as the forumsto create relationships between players, thereby paving the way to work together as a close-knit group when it comes to other subjects. In order to do this, I would delegate to a trusted member of the PCP to run competitions within the IRC and forums, to create a focus on it. Alongside this, I would attempt to make sure that things stay positive within the party, as to ensure a positive, we-can-do-this atmosphere grows within the members of the party.

By the end of the term, I would hope to have both of these in place, with more frequent use of the IRC and the PCP feed, as well as positivity being a stand-out point within the party. This would encourage other members to join the party, thereby making us grow as a community.

Co-operation

Co-operation is key to any endeavour. This links in to the previous point, about building relationships between party members and forming a close bond. Within the PCP, I feel that a group mentality should rule over personal gains. In order to accomplish this, I feel that a share and share alike policy should be introduced. This will be a method to encourage players within the party to primarily share their goods and, possibly, money, with other members within the party, who will also share, and so on. This would encourage players to join the party as to be part of a group working together, as well as assisting players in building up in order to share.

By the end of the term, I would hope to achieve a minimum of some goods being shared within the party, as well as positive encouragement to other players to do just the same. The eUK is a small country. We would thrive on sharing.

Collaboration

Collaboration with other parties should be a key focus within the PCP, as it could gain us positive connections within other parties, thereby making work in elections easier when attempting to gain support. In order to do this, I would encourage members of the PCP to, again, get on the IRC more often and build relationships with members of other parties as well as those of the PCP. This would show us in a positive light, as we would be willing to go out there and make the effort. Alongside this, I would attempt to run inter-party competitions, linking in to a later point, in order to inspire a close-knit bond between the PCP and other parties, as well as promoting a positive atmosphere within the eUK.

By the end of the term, I would hope to be communicating on a positive level with other parties, as well as running semi-regular inter-party competitions. This would boost co-operation within the eUK as a whole, as well as within the PCP, due to a positive atmosphere being created.

Cultivation

A recruitment drive. The PCP seems to be extremely inactive in going out there and getting new members. What I propose is to start agressively recruiting - members of the PCP getting out there and posting articles about the People's Communist Party, what we stand for and the like, as well as providing a positive outlook within the community. Alongside this, I would encourage the recruitment of players to eRepublik, possibly advertising the community in a positive light in order to gain more members for the eUK as a whole, and not just the PCP.

At the end of the political term, I would hope to have achieved new members for the eUK whilst retaining the old ones, as well as spreading the word about eRepublik through other means.

Communes

Communes have always been an idea within the PCP, but have stopped being mentioned. Communes are the idea of players employing others at as low a wage as possible, and giving them the goods that are made. Taking key points from Commandante Ross' stand on this, I would encourage the selling of goods that are created in order to fund other players' growth, so they can provide this to other members, creating a chain of sustainable growth. Alongside this, I would promote the idea of PCP members working for other PCP members, to create a self-sustaining community.

By the end of the term, I would hope to have laid groundwork for the creation of working PCP communes, as well as creating a self-sustainable party.

Competitions

Competitions can be used to encourage activity within the party, as well as promoting use of the IRC and forums. I encourage players within the PCP - and the community as a whole - to run competitions when and where you can, to give players an incentive to taking part in the community aspect of the game.
