On the Nemesis quarrel – a Romanian perspective.

Day 1,613, 01:50 Published in Brazil Romania by tzopaila

First of all, I want to assure you that i'm not speaking in anyone's behalf but my own. As a concerned Romanian citizen i've decided to write this message although i had no direct or indirect contact with the Brazilian community until now. Although i am not familiarized with the problems Nemesis is causing in Brazil i understand it is your right to decide who you welcome and accept in your e-society.
I know brazilians were very welcoming towards us and gave a lot of citizenships to Romanians who wanted to emigrate (mainly for bigger bonuses). It is of course your right to take back that favor if you think your trust has been misplaced. Secondly, i am 100% behind the idea that allies respect their decisions so it's not the Romanian community job to question or doubt your decisions.
This being said let me offer some insight about what really happened in Romania since the election of Tudor Soim. This way, i think you'll be able to judge better the conduit of the Romanian community.

1. I am a party member (it's the only party i supported since my e-birth), and my party backed Tudor Soim for president. I didn't vote for him, because i was under impressed by his credentials and experience in the game. But i can vouch that he was elected not because he was a member of Nemesis, but because he was the leader of his party. Everyone in this game has multiple layers of identity (ethnicity, political orientations or military allegiance). It would be a fallacy to invoke one layer of identity when it was clearly other at work when he got elected. Besides that, back then the bulk of the Romanian community wasn't aware with your frictions with the Nemesis. So, his voting is not an approval vote Nemesis received, far from it.

2. His inability to resolve the Brasilian-Romanian problem played a big part in the impeachment (although he released a statement condemning Nemesis and offering his resignation from that M.U) . There were other reasons, of course, but this issue was quite central in the debate. The Romanian community does not want to lose the friendship of eBrazil .

3. Conditioning the signing of the MPP by Nemesis compliance with your requests is erroneous because Romania doesn’t actually have the means to force Nemesis into compliance. If it would i no doubt Romania would use its leverage. We can only negotiate with them and incentivize them. And although i am not an insider in matters of state, i am sure the Romanian Government tries hard to make them more responsive.

4. I sincerely think there is no conflict between our two communities. There is a minor problem caused by individuals who are not backed, supported nor their actions approved by the Romanian community.

Hoping that this will soon be water under the bridge i salute you as brothers and hope our relationship will be normalized as soon as possible.

With sympathy,
Ion Vlahu – a Romanian soldier
