On Democracy, participation, dictatorship and everything else.
In the past few days our community has endured a political crises, wholy started by one man. and at this moment the party of said man continues to be a thorn in the eye of many.
This is about democracy, about participating and everything else.
So a lot of people claim that eNL democracy is a farce, that the country is ruled by only a few. But this is complete bollocks, everyone can participate in the everyday innerworkings of this clone of a nation. The forums are the place where this happens, just like real politicians have their debates in magnificent buildings. that is what the forum functions as.

Everyone who is a citizen of the eNetherlands is welcome to join the open discussions on the forums, and anyone is invited to partake in the politics that take place. Now people claim that is bad, that the people on the forums are not elected. But they are, just like in real life the politicians in de tweede kamer are elected officials, they represent the voter, and that happens in the forums aswell. You voted for DemNL, and they represent you. and as they represent you, they come up with laws, they defend their laws, they debate on proposed laws, they make sure the government does no harm, it is the CM’s who do all this. Sure the public doesnt choose the CoC, but the CoC is just in service to the congress.
I agree there are some issues, I myself would like to see forum administrators to be completely neutral, but as there is no participation from 99% of the populis , there simply is no choice.
And that is the problem, nobody but a few actually invest in the workings of this country. Why they don’t is beyond me, maybe its they who have disputes, maybe its they who have issues. ReL no longer partaking in the forums is a dirty trick, voter manipulation in real life it would be called. and when they had the chance to change things around, they simply quit. Only a few of the elected politicians are actually debating, only a few. and only a minority is ReL. They scream from the roofs about how evil the forums are, how bad everything but their own actions are. Yet it is them running away from their responsibilities.
We also had a dictator who decided to run for presidency, but the law, which a lot of people voted on clearly stated no. While its sad that Tonie left, he really didn’t have to. Congress gave him the choice to choose one or the other, and Tonie ignored, breaking the law, which in real life gets you punishment. Tonie quit, while he strangled our nation in a chokehold, unable to do anything. Tonie claimed it was for the sake of the country, but if it was really the sake for the country, then, why didn’t he choose?
The forums are not bad, the people in it are not evil, everyone can partake, and everyone can look for themselves. but they don’t bother. Yes the dictatorship is a thorn but we had no choice, yes there are petty fights but not as bad as they used to be and yes, damn well there are rules.
Democracy in the eNetherlands still exist, it is only up to you how you use it. Not everybody wants to fight, some just play for the political games. But quit telling that the place is evil.
Because it is still you who can change stuff.

The forum is far more democratic for its open doscussion then any ingame tool.

Lol what a joke, the forum democratic. Go there now and see how the elite vote for their new fake president. I nominated myself but was left of the list, only their candidate can stand. That is not democracy it is fascism or communism. You can not decide to leave candidates off the list as you wish and only allow people to vote for one candidate, your candidate. In addition people are stripped of their voting rights when inactive, that is not democracy as well. In a democracy your right to vote or not vote remains under all conditions. In my country even a convicted murderer in prison gets the opportunity to vote in elections.

@GEN. that is case you also applied for Dictator before posting "I will be the this weeks dictator and president." on the interim presidency, so don't expect to be taken serious with that, nor expect you can apply for both.
So no you are left off the list cause you already applied for the Dictator position on which you did get placed on the list. Don't start acting you where left off cause off any other reason.

Who gave Odan the right to leave me off the list. Which made up law is this, which group of congress members made this decision. There is a stupid law that says you can not be both at the same time, but there is no law that says you can not apply for both at the same time. Oh wait there is always ODAN's laws.
