Fidel Corbyn
Hello! My name is Fidel Corbyn, and I am new to eRepublik. I would like to ask a few questions that people might like to comment on:
1. I, and I would say a lot of you here to, are in favour of Democracy. Why then do we have a dictator?
2. Can a representative from each party please state why I should join theirs.
3. Which Army should i Join?
4. Please write if you are a leftwing person or right wing.
Thanks You,
Fidel Corbyn.

Hello Fidel Corbyn , unfortunatelly I am not the most responsible player to answer these questions. But in my opinion questions 2-3 are 2 very good questions. My advice for your first steps in that game is to search things for yourself and make your own choices. Also I hope you keep your newspaper active!
The dictators in most countries have been installed as a defensive measure in order to keep a foreign power from becoming dictator and doing tremendous harm under the game's mechanics.

Read up about each party and army, then make your choice.
Whiskey Jack is right about the Dictator.
Good luck with your newspaper.
Welcome Fidel!
1) We do favour democracy and operate under a democratic system. See anybody can launch a military coup and install a Dictator for a price of 200'000 IEP. However we have installed a trusted Dictator in Ireland that follows our Constitution and wishes of the Irish executive and congress. Having this Dictator means if a foreign force wishes to install a Dictator in Ireland, they must first launch a revolt (200'000 IEP) and then a military coup (200'000) costing them a total of 400'000 IEP. The added cost makes us feel safer whilst not taking away any of the democratic rights enshrined in the Irish Constitution.
2) I don't want to write anything right now trying to recruit you to any party as it really is up to you, I recommend you message the leaders of each party about what makes theirs the one for you. Even wait a while and join who you agree with rather than the one who says all the nice things (populist policies). We have four main parties in Ireland, Eire Aonair, Independent Labour Party, Omega Eireann and Irish Freedom Party. None is exactly similar to another but most do have good working relationships. Omega Eireann is the current government, Irish Freedom Party currently holds independant roles in the Dictator, Ceann Comhairle and Irish Army Commander. ILP are opposition to the Govt and then EA are neutral and hold seats in congress.
3) There are three medium armies in Ireland. CrOmega (military wing of Omega Eireann), Labour Peoples Army (military wing of Independent Labour Party) and Irish Army (apolitical). The Irish Army is state-run and doesn't let politics influence it as it only follows the orders of the Department of Defence. They are currently relaunching and have plans to set up a boot-camp for new players. CrOmega is a military unit for Division 1 and 2 players and is one of the strongest in the world in these divisions, it is regarded by members to be like a family due to its close nature. I amn't all too familiar with
the runnings of LPA but you should message Liam Tatlock should you wish to know more.
4) I am a left-wing person and as CP of Ireland at one stage made us into a socialist state with next to none taxes.
clerics you can join if you want. its the number 1 mu
Get a job hippie and stop asking so many questions.
Welcome to the game, glad to have you here. An Sluagh did a great job answering those questions. If you need anything give me a should. I am a democratically elected dictator which sounds mad but it works.
except he didnt mention the clerics so he actually did a pretty shitty job as usual on purpose.
ILP has been very helpful launching a political career for me and the Irish Army has helped me develop as a soldier thus far!
Thanks for All the replies.
I think i will join the ILP because they are the only socialist party.
Welcome to the game Fidel. In relation to armies/Military Units you can see the weekly leaderboards in the top left of the screen. The icon is a little bar chart. This shows you which people, Military Units (MUs) and countries do the most damage in fighting every week. You can see the top 3 from last week and all the results from this week so far. For eIrish MUs you can see CrOmega, followed by Clerics, followed by the Irish Army are the MUs doing the most damage. This was the same last week and for the last few months. As for the reasons why this is the case maybe someone else will explain that.
