Name that character competition - 5g prize

Fritzhill just ran a competition for a gift giveaway. The name Fritzhill prompted an image in my mind of a TV series character. I could see his face yet all I could remember was that it was a science fiction series and this character part of a travelling group yet also a villain. He could not have been too much of a villain though because I recall he had his arms over the shoulders of a young boy. So more of a villain along the lines of Dr Smith in Lost in Space. This series was also around the same era as Lost in Space. After an hour searching I figured out who he was and the name of the series. The only thing wrong with my memory was that it was not Fritzhill but something close.
