My last words this term

Day 2,511, 19:26 Published in Norway Netherlands by M. de Ruyter

Dear fellow Norwegians,

Sure hope you're not expecting any long end-term article here, but I'll give it a shot.

We had quite an exciting month, with the invasion of both UK and NL on our lands. And if it wasn't for a certain UK player we would have expelled at least NL back to oblivion. At least we can say they payed dearly to stay on our Northern grounds for such a short time, and our vaults are still loaded. We intend to keep it that way, as we know to have patience, and look forward to times to come.

I'd also like to express my gratitude to our allies, who stood by us as brothers in arms. We couldn't have done this without them.

There was a certain nastyness in the short-lived NL occupation, and after some deliberations forth and back, both Norway and Netherlands came with a common declaration:

The peoples of Norway and the Netherlands, represented by their democratically elected governments, wish to publicly express their mutual assured respect by signing this declaration.
We, the peoples of the Netherlands and Norway regard each other as equal partners in the international community. Both nations realize that terms like 'inferiority' and 'superiority', whatever nationality they are assigned to, are outdated expressions and shall be discontinued to be used.
Each nation shall have the possibility to obtain a congress representing its people in the international community. We realize that every nation has the right to align and realign itself with any other nation which is to be respected by the international community, however, any such alignment is under no circumstances reason to pay less respect to any nation and its people.
Both nations accept and respect the current and any future alignment of our nations whether we be allies or enemies.

Should it be necessary for whatever reason to declare war on each other, Norway and the Netherlands express their will to pay respect to this declaration.

In accordance with this declaration, the Netherlands are retreating to the 'status quo ante bellum' in September.

You all are aware of the changing times in world alliances, and this administration has already taken steps to ensure our future freedom and independance for that matter. I myself have also the fulliest belief that my successor and his team will go on pursuing this path.

I'd like to end by stating that we are indeed a great nation, however small in numbers, still each time we make our enemies see that it is too expensive for them to remain on our lands unwanted.

We did also expell Nigeria from our most Northern island archipel, after trying to establish a common ground with them, which they wouldn't take. There also never was a repay of our taxes, let alone any call from their government to ask us if it was alright to bunk with us on Svalbard and Jan Mayen. All they did was trying to stall us, and eventually telling us they were too poor to pay us any rent. Yet we all saw them buying damage to try and stay on those icy islands, with Winter already in sight. Not a smart move in my humble opinion.

Alt det beste for deg godt, og jeg håper du snart være i stand til å tjene igjen.
