May Congress, Day 890

Day 890, 11:50 Published in South Africa USA by Merle Corey

First off, there were a couple new tax proposals that I voted "FOR": the tax change on Wood and the tax change on Iron. These should lower the effective price on imported raw materials, making our domestic cost to product slightly lower. As we have no high-resource region for either wood or iron, impact on local companies should be minimal.

Also there was the donation to the RBSA. FOR.

Finally, there was the impeachment proposal on President Greyhunter. I voted "against." The reasoning behind the proposal in the first place is to protect us from PTO efforts in the next presidential elections, not to dump greyhunter. (he can't escape *that* easily!) You can read what the ministry of security has to say about it here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/ministry-of-security-impeachment-proposal-1326139/1/20.

I applaud the forethought and planning that went into the impeachment proposal, and I'd expect to see it become a regular end-of-term process in eSA.

As always, thanks for reading.
