Join the new world

Many things has changed in the past few weeks so I thought you all would want to know what is the opinion of Canada’s president Trenton Rendell. Here is an interview with him for the Bulgarian press:

Many people think that being an ePresident leaves you with no time for your usual RL stuff. Is the game that much different than being a typical erepublik citizen?
I believe it is a lot more people yell at you and not just people from your own country. Though it’s really the only position in the game with power to change the course of your nation.

How many hours do you spend here every day? Why don’t you have a vice president to help you?
I spend a lot of my time on the internet so whenever I’m on I’m involved in the game somehow whether it be on the IRC or the forums. The reason why I don’t have a VP is because I think the position is useless. In my case anyways, I’m like to tackle situations heads on and I can’t send messages through a messenger it needs to be directly to someone. I think having a VP would only add confusion.

Addy Lawrence almost quitted the game while he was a president, Acacia Mason was close to do it too. Do you think that something/someone here may lead you to do the same?
I may same I’m close to quitting the game but in reality I can’t. I’ve spent way too much time playing this game to get where I am. I’m not going to quit. Rain or shine I’ll be here.

You had your first major test with your “declaration of war” fail. What was the reaction in Canada and in the congress?
They were disappointed that we lost the gold but ultimately understood that it was a mistake and that mistakes happen. And I thank them for that.

Do you think you are impeachment protected as this would make Rolo Tahmasee a president? Something that the Congress didn’t allow to happen even though they had an executive order to do so from their past presidents Addy/Acacia.
No I don’t believe so, If I truly mess up I have faith in my congress that they will see me as unfit to govern and I would hope they would impeach me. Regardless of who’s in second.

Do you see a chance that the eCanadian civil war would end soon? Who will make the first compromise?
I would love if the “war” between us and the EPC would end. But until they return my calls, nothing is going to happen.

Canada is a member of both Terra and EDEN. Why is that so and why don’t you leave one of them?
It’s simple; Canada has friends in both alliances. EDEN and Terra have been there for eCanada when we were in our darkest hours and we’re extremely grateful.

After Bulgaria left EDEN ONE began to win more battles mostly on Balkans while Canada and USA are still not that much affected. Do you think that will change soon?
No, I have faith that EDEN and Terra forces will continue to repeal ONE forces.

Bulgaria had some epic battles against Greece and Turkey lately but I didn’t saw many Canadians fighting against us. Is that only because of the time difference or you still don’t think we are an enemy? What is your personal opinion about eBulgaria?
Bulgaria was a good ally but Bulgaria made their choice. Choose to mix RL politics into the game. When Bulgaria left EDEN, Bulgaria left the botherhood. In my opinion Bulgaria is no longer an ally. Not necessarily the enemy. Just not our ally anymore.
