Join the new world

As I logged into eRepublik today, I received notification that I had been selected as ANA Party President in the wake of Exilious’s resignation from the party. This will be a brief interim term as the new Party President elections are occurring on Tuesday. I also would like to announcing that I will be running for party president in the coming elections.

These last few months have been trying and difficult months for the ANA – Filled with controversy and discord (although the ANA has never really been free of controversy). We have seen a Party President (Ajay Bruno) elected under questionable means, resulting in the splitting of the party in a brief civil war that ended, but was never really healed, with Ajay’s eventual being banned for using multiple accounts. I am grateful to Exilious for the part he played in getting Ajay Banned. He was a stain on our party that needed to go. However, during the months under Exilious’s leadership, the party has seen a steep decline in membership, resulting in us falling out of the top 5 parties in eSA. While it is true that many of these members were Ajay supporters, and that the party and eSA is better without them, it is not good for the party’s future. This was combined with the movement in party orientation to a National Socialist philosophy which has drastically hurt our ability to recruit new members to the party.

I have adjusted the party philosophy from Totalitarian to Authoritarian and replaced the party icon with a temporary one. If elected party president this Tuesday, work will begin on creating a permanent replacement. We are a party that believes strongly in having an orderly society, however, we don’t need to promote a totalitarian style of government to accomplish this goal.
