I am back!

Day 2,084, 10:25 Published in Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia by I-G-D

Hey everyone...

What’s up? I haven’t written an article in a long time, mostly due to my real-life responsibilities (I’ll tell you more about that soon, wait). I decided to stop using “article make-up”, i.e. underlined, italic and bold letters, ‘cause setting them up takes away too much time... Especially if the article is long, and yeah, this one here definitely is.

So let’s get to the point. I’ve been inactive for around two weeks, from July 18th to July 31st, or something like that. That’s ‘cause I’ve been to Colombia in order to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad. I managed to find some WiFi so I was able to maintain my account, but nothing more... Only Guerrilla a little bit. Colombia is far away from my home (Niš, Serbia) so the journey itself was quite exhausting. I’ve stayed in 4 hotels during these 2 weeks. So what was my stay like? Well, I’ve met a lot of new people, and I liked Colombia in general. The people were very friendly, and so were the other mathematicians on the competition. Even though I don’t like swimming, I still liked Santa Marta (the competition was held there) because of its warm temperature. Bogota (I stayed there for a day before the competition, and two days after) was a lot colder, on the other hand. On top of that, I managed to win the bronze medal on the competition... Winning a medal was a really hard thing to do and I barely got it, so I was quite happy with my result. And no, I wasn’t actually the 3rd person on the rankings, I was in the top half. One half of all the competitors gets a medal, one quarter gets at least a silver one, and 1/12 gets gold... Unfortunately, I don’t have any pics, so you can’t actually see me with the medal. There are a few real-life articles where I’m mentioned though. Some of them are in real newspapers, whilst the others are online. I’m done bragging now.

So... I’ll be quite active on eRepublik from now on... During all of August, until my school year starts in September. For some of the newer players who might not know me, I am Ivan, one of the eOldest players in eSaudi Arabia and a long time Arab supporter. I’ve been here for over two whole years and I’ve served numerous Government positions. I’m proud to announce that I’ve been selected (by the current Government as well as Hazem95, the Party President himself) to be the President of eSaudi Arabia during this month, and I’ll try to use up my free time to its full potential. The first part of this article was just this announcement I had in mind, and from here on I’ll be writing about my plans for the upcoming term. So, let’s start...

First of all, being a minister will not be the same as it was before. Why ? During this term, the Government will have only two ministries. Some people might ask me if I am serious, and my answer is yes. In my previous term, a few months ago, when the Government had a lot of ministries, a part of them was active, a part wasn’t. Our goal is to make all ministries active, and in order to do this, we must make a Government system so that all the work is done with everyone actually working, not just a part of the Government. The best way to do this is to make “Government member” a title in the Government. Nothing else... People will be able to work in the Government without holding any special position. There will be only two ministers, and they will be in charge of their respective ministries, but when it comes to decision making, any Government member can participate and state his personal opinion. So what ministries will we have in August ? Interior Affairs (MoIA) and Foreign Affairs (MoFA), and that’s it. The first time the Government was divided into an internal and external sector was during one of Venrick von Lucia’s terms, and then Wars 7 proposed this idea of turning those sectors into ministries. I like the idea and support it. That’s why we’ll be having only two ministries with two ministers, and besides them, the Vice-President, and the Advisers, all the other Government members will either be a MoIA or MoFA member, or both.

Some people might be against this idea, and they might think this two ministry thing is not a good idea. But I have a few things to say to them : each of the “other” ministries doesn’t have that many duties, and can get merged with one of these two... The Ministry of Economy means only collecting data about how money is spent, and that’s it... One MoIA member can get that job. The Ministry of Defence is closely related to MoFA. One MoFA member can publish daily orders (articles) and coordinate with the Military Unit Commanders. That’s easy... All the other Baby Boom related ministries can get merged with MoIA. It’s simple. The MoFA will focus on maintaining a good relation with our allies, negotiate when needed, and assign Ambassadors. The MoIA will make sure the Party President elections go well and that our new players get the help they need. This ministry will also be in charge of citizenship requests. So what else do we need ? Another question you might ask is why the other countries have that many ministries and we’re going to have only two. That’s because we’re a small country with a small number of players. We don’t need that many ministries, whilst the stronger countries in eRep do. As we progress further on, we can add new ministries when we need them. At this moment, we only need these two. I hope this issue is clear now.

So how will our Government look ? Something like this :

President : I-G-D
Vice-President : Venrick von Lucia
Advisers : Wars 7, Hazem95, Abdullah Australi
Ministry of Interior Affairs : Anoir Kossentini as Minister + the other MoIA members (😉
Ministry of Foreign Affairs : Danyal al Battani as Minister (with me being his Consultant) + the other MoFA members

(😉 Molinos Arabes did a pretty good job when it comes to keeping financial logs, so I believe he should continue doing this, whilst being a MoIA member.

I urge everyone in eSaudi Arabia to apply to work in the Government, either in the MoIA or MoFA (you decide). To apply, you can either comment on this article or send me a private message. We need a strong and active Government during the following term. Even if you don’t have that much time, there is still room for you in the Government. We’ll be giving away jobs so that everyone can do their job. Someone who has more free time will get more work to do, and someone with not too much time on his hands will get smaller tasks.

And yeah, that’s kinda it so far. I’m going to write another article soon... Probably in two days. I’m going to talk about some other plans and publish a full Government list, with all the MoIA and MoFA players, i.e. with all the people working in the Government. Take care...

P. S. : If you have the time to translate this to Arabic, please do, and give me the translated version so I can edit the article. That would be helpful.
