Hello Turkey
mittekemuis
Greeting Turkey,
I think it is about time I introduced myself. Some of you know me already because I am no stranger in the international scene of erepublik. For those who don't have a clue I will tell you who I am and what I have done so far in this game. I am not going to be very much involved in politics just yet. I would like to learn to know the community first and see if you are happy with me aswell. That and the fact that it is Summer and vacation time I rather spend my time outside and with family than stuck in endless meetings or watch battles.
The beginning
My baby steps in eRepublik started on October 22, 2010 in Belgium also the country I am from in real life. At the beginning it was all really strange but with active support from the Belgian community I soon found my place amongst them. Early on I started as ambassador for Germany and UK. After two months I got my first real big chance to make a political difference in the game. I was appointed vMoFa. Back in those days, gold was very important for getting MPPs and a small neutral country needed hard negotiation skills to not go bankrupt on MPPs. They also had to count in terms of provided battles as eBelgium didn't have their own battles and were deemed to weak for training battles with their neighbours.
Before I came Belgium had MPPs with mainly eUSA even Russia but the most interesting fights were done in Eastern Europe. With the idea that it could never hurt to ask I started to talk with Poland and Hungary as main MPP battle providers. Hence why Poland and Belgium until this day have good relations.
History goes on
But all this is not really interesting for you guys. I was just trying to explain I am adventurous. Having done all I could in Belgium I moved across the channel for the first time. eUK provided me with more challenge and refreshed view on the game. Again first as ambassador but soon in the ministry of Foreign Affairs I made a name for myself in UK and slowly people all over the World started to get to know me. Making friends all over the place provided me with opportunities. I would venture a bit when I got a bit bored with eUK politics or I was placed in a different country because it would be useful for the UK’s future. I ended up in Estonia where I was part of the Government a few times. Sadly, most my friends over there have all given up playing but I do have good memories there. I was part of the Irish community for a short time but also accepted in Romania and served as Foreign affairs minister there. At times I even had the post of Foreign Affairs Minister in different countries at the same time.
Having friends in different alliances wasn't always easy but I always kept my loyalty to the alliance the country I stayed in at the time.
Somehow I rolled in alliance politics back when TWO/EDEN and saw how both alliances operated from within.
Becoming SG in TWO and bringing in Greece after the demise of EDEN made one of the best times for me in the game. It also made me get to know the Greek community better and I decided to join Greece some time after that. Had to leave Arch Angles and Greece because of my activity in the breakdown from TWO and the building of Sirius.
I played at alliance level ever since I was introduced in TWO throughout the beginning of Sirius where I was first SG with Nenya as dSG, until I felt I really needed a break and go back to basic. That is also why I joined Turkey. Through the alliance I worked closely with Turkish Government and they needed an experienced extra hand in Foreign Affairs so I accepted. To be honest I didn't do much in that function because my activity in the game was greatly getting less and less. So with shame I went back to the UK where I thought to just retire for some time until I found new energy to play serious again. Well now my plans have changed again after the ridiculous actions of a part from the British community which resulted in a full blown Serbian PTO I decided it was time to leave again and go to Turkey once more even when I don't plan to get active in politics just yet.
The bonus Turkey has plays a big role but also something completely new and fresh. I really think Turkey has so much more potential than they have now if they had a better Foreign Affairs policy but that is a different story.
A question for you
Being in Turkey for a few weeks now I notice people from different parties are recruiting. That is also a reason why I am writing you now. I have a question for all party President and the Government.
I am a foreigner I do not speak Turkish so I am greatly depended on Google translate which is very bad in translating Turkish in my opinion. So what I ask of you is can you guys present me your party policies in English and Government article bilingual Turkish/English.
That way I can make up my mind which party I will join in the future and know what is going on in the country.
From now on yours truly,
Comments
First 😁 Good luck in Turkey Mitte!
It is not like you are begged to join our politics.. And I highly doubt that any turk would really love to see one foreigner participating in a party who desires to play a big role in politics.
I guess, googletranslatot shall be more than enough for you, but who am I to make decisions with such a low level.. right ? 🙂
Well I have worked with Turkish people before and find them most generous and welcoming. In every country in this game you have natives and foreigners.
I did not say I will put weight on politics just want to know what the parties stand for who are trying to recruit me.
I hope to see you climb up the ladder and make sure Turkey has a great voice and place in this world 🙂
welcome mitte 🙂
welcome
I hope more of you Belgians leave UK soon. You influenced our politics and chain of command for far too long. Personally I have always gotten on well with you, and I have nothing against you personally. But don't talk about "ridiculous actions" when you were part of some of your own.
As if I had something to do with the entering off all these Serbians in the UK. Also I didn't name names BigAnt so now you are calling out yourself. But no despair UK is my eHome and I will return.
thank you for visiting and enjoy your stay mittekemuis 😉
