Day 1,288 of the New World
Pfeiffer taps Gnilraps for Chief of Staff

"I'm so Horny the crack of dawn better watch out." - Tom Waits
A vote for Pfeiffer is a vote for the Party

And I can't believe I am saying that.
I have not been too quiet about my policy disagreements with Henry Arundel aka Pfeiffer. He's a Hawk. I'm a Tomato Farmer.

But he's running for Country President and hold-on-to-your britches he asked me to serve as Chief of Staff. Maybe he likes Tomatoes.

Seriously. I want the Federalist Party to understand what is going on, why, and what to do about it.
The job of Chief of Staff is not a Policy-oriented job. So I don't have to suddenly agree with Pfeiffer about, oh I don't know, how much money ought to be made available for Charity Programs in the eUSA. To his credit, Pfeiffer is not asking me to agree with him. I wouldn't anyway.

He is asking me to serve the eUSA by working to maintain Executive order among his Cabinet and Staff. He needs a Tomato Farmer. I got that.
The real point of this newsletter, though, is to explain why this is an important moment for the Federalist Party.
It has been a long drought for our Party in terms of National influence. Politics is often about momentum. Maybe it's too often about a lack of it.

The Federalist Party has some momentum right now, and a Federalist Chief of Staff … well it wouldn't suck too bad for us.

We are a talented Party. Seriously, look over our Cabinet and Staff roster. When I began as Party President I told several of our leaders that we needed a 3-month plan before we start considering any of our own for a White House bid. We are two months into that plan. Good timing Pfeiffer, thanks. I'll do it.

Pfeiffer knows well my desire to bring some of our talent into the National spotlight. The cool thing about it is, he is entrusting me with a job that will allow us do just that. I'm kind of jacked about it.
Doomsday prophets have broadcast portends of apocalyptic horror at the thought of a Pfeiffer Presidency. Meh.

Seriously people. There's still a congress (in which our Party has a growing influence). Most of the Pfeiffer haters just fear losing cookies. We Federalists just make our own.
I know Pfeiffer is going to be difficult on a number of items I happen to disagree with him on. I know this because every time one of them comes up in National dialog he is chirping in my IRC ear. Annoying? Actually...

Not really annoying at all. I kind of wish a few others would chirp my way. The fact is, Pfeiffer has actually taken legitimate interest in the Federalist Party. He is active in our Forum (where he pisses us off rather routinely). He has always idled in our chat (where he pisses us off rather routinely). He responds to our policy proposals (where he pissed me off recently). The truth is, it isn't really annoying to be pissed off. It means we are participating.

A Pfeiffer Presidency means that the Federalist Party will be participating in the National Discussion in a way we have not done in almost a year.
No Federalist has been in a top position for a long time. Let's change that.
Our Party is ready right now to start populating the national stage with talented people. Pfeiffer has offered us that opportunity.
So I am casting my vote for Pfeiffer/Lantrip in the Federalist Party Primary Poll. I think it is what is best for our Party.
Yes. The Federalist Party is running for Chief of Staff.

Gnilraps
Federalist Party President.
