Forget PEACE!, Remember The Alamo!

"I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism, and everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid with all dispatch. ...
VICTORY OR DEATH."

William B. Travis, Feb. 24, 1836

11 days later, Travis and the Alamo fell. 150 soldiers and volunteers held off a force of 6000 for nearly 2 weeks.

March wasn't victorious for the Republic. Weeks after the fall of the Alamo, Col. James Fannin and 341 of his men were captured and executed. Texas seemed on the verge of losing its struggle for independence. Until...

April 21, 1836. Gen. Sam Houston has planned an assault on the Mexican Army. His forces were untested as many were newly trained recruits but their wills were strong. Late in the afternoon on April 21st, Houston and his army made the Mexican forces pay!

"About 3:30 in the afternoon, during the Mexican siesta period, Houston distributed his troops in battle array, bracketing the line with the "Twin Sisters" cannon. Shielded by trees and a rise in the terrain, the Texans were able to advance with some security. Then with the cries "Remember the Alamo" and "Remember La Bahia" or "Remember Goliad" ringing along their lines, the Texans swooped down on the dismayed Mexican army, pursuing and butchering them long after the battle itself had ended."

PEACE has stepped in it one time too many. Let's show them the door, Texas style.
