Foreign Affairs F***up
DylanBAS
NOTE: Since the initial publication of this article, I have found that the position of John Largo more closely aligns with my own, and so I am endorsing him over HeapSeppo
While I am not an inside player in the Foreign affairs business, I have read up on the recent interactions of Sirius and the eUS, and after hearing both sides account of themselves and the other side, I stand firmly in the position that America should do all in its power to restore its membership in Sirius.
From what I understand, it seems that our current President, Molly Emma, has engaged with the rest of Sirius using arguments replete with non-sequiters and insulting rhetoric.
I implore you, citizens of this proud nation, to message Iain Keers, the current SG of Sirius, expressing your desire for the eUS to return to membership status within Sirius
With this in mind, I am throwing my vote in the hat for John Largo. I have read his position here and no matter how he executes it, it cannot be worse than that of our current president, who is also vying for another term.
Summer is coming up, which more often than not means an invasion for the eUS. Allies are critical at this time, so we need to repair our relationship with Sirius immediately.
Pursuant to this, I also support a USA led charge to free Spain. Other members of our former alliance promised to support us, and I am sure that if we can regain their trust, they will make the same promise.
For all those who disagree, put yourself in the shows of our former allies. Imagine that, during the infamous wipe of 2013, Mexico had decided to invade Columbia for resources instead of selflessly building a wall to protect our recovering nation from the wrath of Serbia and Poland. This is parallel to what we are doing now. We are abandoning our allies in their time of need in order to pursue personal bonuses. Is this really who we want to be? Is this really who want want to be seen as in in the world? You decide with your vote. Either vote for the current president who pursues this path, or vote for a voice of logic that will help this nation regain its prosperity.

First for the eUS re-entering Sirius
Sirius was broken before ME came in. She has been playing catchup/cleanup and frankly decided it was a raw deal for the eUSA to stay and be a part of the alliance. Other Sirius members NAP the alliance's enemies and when we NAP Argentina we're the bad guy? We were sequestered to lead the charge and liberate Spain so they can get a congress, meanwhile Spain said don't worry about it this month. Why? 72 hours is not enough time; our forces could not feasibly liberate Spain in time. Sirius wanted us to lead the charge and stir the hornet's nest, meanwhile backdoor dealing was going on with alliance members that neglected to include eUSA. I believe it was already fairly well decided that eUSA was going to be voted out BEFORE being asked to attack eArgentina. This was just the final straw. eUSA is out.
Meanwhile, eUSA's Homeland Security recently sent bodies over to help eUK in their ATO operations during the Party President elections. Afaik this is a big middle finger from Ian Keers to eUSA despite us trying to help them prevent a PTO.
I support ME and she will be wonderful in her next term.
addendum: allegedly, some Sirius members were worried because of the eArgentina NAP that if Sirius didn't appease eSpain they would possibly drop Sirius and ally themselves with eSerbia. Due to the fact that everyone knows, OR SHOULD KNOW, eUSA will never ally with eSerbia so the lesser risk was chosen and the latter was booted out.
That is total bullshit
LOL - Siruis among other things was pissed off at your lack of support and putting your personal grudges (meaningless war in eCanada) over the good of your alliance (Spain wiped with eUS's priorities elsewhere)
You were a crappy ally and the big brothers of the alliance called you out on it
Prior administration has some responsibility with this eCanadian warfare and congress too. My information is second hand, but it echoes a many other facts that lead to this separation. Congressional oversight on expenses for the war is also to blame. Time to move on though.
There are details that you don't know, so this is an understandable position, but honestly, I'd suggest you wait a bit longer before making a final judgment on this.
Voted anyway, since it's good to voice your opinions.
inform me, what don't I know that might change my position?
Can you post several of these non sequiturs?
Accusing Croatia of not being sincere in their declaration of support of Spain
Accusing Turkey of the same thing
Saying that Poland MPPing Asteria members justifies our MPP of Argentina, who is occupying Spain.
NAP is not an MPP
A difference without distinction.
If you don't know the distinction between a NAP and an MPP (and accompanying game mechanics) then you're probably clueless about foreign affairs.
If you don`t know the backstage similarities between NAP and MPP, you`re probably just as clueless.
You can read the rest of the eUS media. It is pretty clear that there was no reasonable alternative open for the eUS. This was more of an Ian f-up as can be seen in the media.
Voted! o/
Voted.
yala yala xdxd
usa or spain ? i dont care fvkk them
I disagree with the FA step of USA but I also disagree with the grand tears from keers spectacle.
HQ and every country rep act like they're six years old, yeah no shit the alliance goes to shit.
Wow.....just.....wow
I realize that we disagree on this, and I encourage you to voice your opinion. In all my statements, I hope to create a dialogue.

"I implore you, citizens of this proud nation, to message Iain Keers, the current SG of Sirius, expressing your desire for the eUS to return to membership status within Sirius"
Ha... haha... HAHAHAHAHA!
Dude, I know it's just a game, but grow some.
Don't happen to agree, but voted for sake of discussion.
We were given two options in Sirius; bend over, or get out.
Looks like you're going for the first?

I realize some things need to be kept hushed at times but our current CP's recent articles about serious and big FA changes have told we little citizens nothing. I want to be better informed by my eCountry's leadership. It happens election after election. Once elected, there is a black hole where the eAdministration is and the citizens are told almost nothing.
If my eGovernment wants my support outside of defending our territory, explain to me what we're doing and why we're doing it, otherwise I am cutting the strings and will no longer be a zombie puppet following orders I don't understand.
Don't happen to agree, but voted for imploring citizens of this proud nation to message Iain Keers. Preferably notarized, certified, and signed in triplicate.
😁
I completely agree with Rainy
So basically what I get out of this is that you believe other countries governments more than our own? I mean I don't really trust large amounts of any government, but it is quite obvious something like this would take more than a month to get to the point it's at.
To add insult Molly is a very well respected player with a long history of excellent service. Both to her party and the nation. She has always conducted herself with integrity.
I looked at both sides and the story told by Sirius just seems to stand up better.
not even close
You mean Iain Keers just writes better propaganda.
If propaganda just means information designed to convince you of the validity of a position, then yes, he writes better propaganda, because it is more convincing for good reasons.
I think it's stupid to leave everyone behind like we do now as a country, but attacking everyone per orders is stupid, too. Can't we make our own path where we'd be EQUAL with our allies? I mean, USA is top-1 in real world, but we're not it over here. Why the hell are we supposed to attack Spain just like that? Why can't we sign NAP with eArg when ePoles have it signed with half our enemies?
That just makes sense.
The Sirius boat has sailed, get over it.
While ME did a terrible job, don`t, for the love of everything hole, vote for Sepptard.
I'm getting so many new nicknames nowdays. How flattering! o/
You had it for years and you know it.
I changed my endorsement. No worries
Dylan, I encourage you to catch up on Wild Owl's latest paper.
Your assessment of Molly's performance is not accurate. She has been made to be the scapegoat to justify Sirius' preference for Spain.
Those who want to play along with Sirius will have the USA as lapdogs. Sirius WILL NOT respect USA Sovereignty nor treat her as an equal.
I have just read the story told by Wild Owl, and while I think Sirius deserves some blame, our decision to leave the alliance was a total mistake. Not only are we seen even more as undependable allies, we are heading it summer(the notorious wipe season) without any alliance to back us up.
Maybe my assessment is not totally accurate, I can only go on my current knowledge, as can anyone else. However, as it stands, it seems that Molly acted belligerently with the other members of our alliance and acted without informing HQ of foreign policy decisions. Yes, other nations did this as well, but I thought the eUS might be the better man this time.
Maybe we will play a lapdog role some some time, maybe we won't. But BOTH scenarios are preferable to being wiped with no alliance support.
I am sure ME did her best, and I mean no personal offense to her or any other members of the government, but she still made what seems to be a series of disastrous foreign policy decisions.
I will agree with your implication that if this results in our wipe, then it was poorly played.
I will not agree with our wipe being inevitable. I know of backup plans that have been in the works for months which will help to prevent us being too vulnerable.
What I just cannot stand is that we are allowing foreign media sources to convince us that our leadership is bad - the same foreign media sources who have a vested interest in protecting their actions by scapegoating US leadership.
"we are allowing foreign media sources to convince us that our leadership is bad - the same foreign media sources who have a vested interest in protecting their actions by scapegoating US leadership." This commits the genetic fallacy. The fact that foreign sources report it does not make it less reliable.
It isn't that they are foreign sources... it is that these particular foreign sources are THE SAME PEOPLE who are protecting their actions by scapegoating Molly Emma. It's their motivation for writing what they are writing, plus their lack of vested interest in the American people knowing the truth. That is what should give readers pause.
Considering Sirius will lost more with the USA's expell than USA, to ask the return is a very bad move.
