eSA votes - Who will be the new president?

Day 653, 22:43 Published in South Africa Ireland by Suileabhain

The Presidential Elections are nearly upon us. With Ines stepping down, we have an open race, one that will probably be much more interesting than if she had won. Sadly, I won't be able to participate in the country president election voting. Real life interferes. I'll be attending a wedding - my roommate from back in college is getting married. I'll be out of town without access to the internet.

Since I'm not going to vote, I don't feel right endorsing a candidate and suggesting people do something I'm not going to be doing myself. I do want to thank the outgoing president for all her hard work and organizing over the past months which ultimately led to our county's freedom and rebirth.

Whoever wins, I hope one of the new president's top priorities is the liberation of some of our other regions. As the current spike in the value of the ZAR has shown, the limited number of proposals we have per month because of the small congress can become a problem and puts us at the mercy of others (no more proposals means we can't mint more ZAR to help the Royal Bank control the price). Related to this, does anyone know if there is an org setup to take donations earmarked for the purchase of the Free State from Brazil? I'm sure we could collect the 120 gold to purchase it back fairly quickly.
