Economic Module Changes
AppleMan
I would like to start this article so we can discuss the economic model changes and share information in the comments below. Here is what I've seen so far:
1. We now have access to the local currency tied to our citizenship only.
2. There is now only Local-->Gold exchange options, no more Local-->Local.
3. We cannot buy or sell on foreign markets, even if you have changed location to that country.
4. It remains to be seen what will happen to our export licenses. But if we try to sell to a foreign country the money is exchanged to local currency.
Feel free to express remarks, concern, disgust or any other rage-type feelings below. You are not alone.

Plato makes me sad! 😞
i just bought some tankz in china so you can buy in foreign markets
stupid change....first off its gonna mess up the economic module and second it took the last thing out of the game that was fun: currency trading
Relative values to gold will change as active populations shift, and there are geopolitical changes in which countries have more or less production bonuses. If these exchange rates are locked in permanently, then there will be massive potential exploits in the future. I hope eRep is willing to do all the required hard work and number tracking to move the exchange rates as currencies change in their values relative to gold.
Viktor, I confirmed your observation. I'm in USA and can buy off of their market, but now using IEP.
Also, I have export offers to USA posted but not purchased so I imagine the buybot is still turned off there like it always was.
This means that now anyone can move to any large country and buy cheap goods (without the old barrier of converting to that local currency) then sell back to the buybot in a small countries where it is active.
This, in turn, will probably raise the large country prices up to the default price. Then, perhaps, the buybot is activated in those countries too and exchange rates bottom out for all. Ugh, what a mess.
