Dear Fellow Newbs - It's high school all over again

Day 1,787, 17:30 Published in USA USA by OneTakeTony

When I saw this contest, I wasn’t very excited, being a newbie myself, how can I give a roadmap to newbs? Well, then I got thinking, what if I not only offered what I found to work on my way up (not very far yet) but if I gave advice on what we could use. And above all, it’s that we’ve got to put aside our differences and realize that no matter what party, gender, level, experience, or military unit. This isn’t high school, stop with the cliques.

First off, I recognize that I’m one of the lucky ones who found their group almost immediately. Within days of joining the game I found the Fed Party which has since been my guardian angel. But, at the start, it’s painfully, painfully scary to be the new kid in town. When I first joined, I tried to decipher Plato’s greeting message and got the courtesy PM from the eUSA president, which I sheepishly replied too and expected him to reply immediately because they had all the time in the world to answer my nooby questions. And while there were some helpful links on the welcome PM, this game can’t and never will be explained through one newspaper or one Department (kudos though to the DoE for their hard work.) Raising a new member to glory shouldn’t be a party thing, it shouldn’t be a MU thing it should be an AMERICAN thing.

When you first join there is so much going on and so hard to find your way. Sure, plenty of PM’s are sent to you from Party Presidents telling you about all the sparkles and glitter that come along with their party, but that’s no fair. Of course, they’ll only tell you about the good things. So here’s what I’m suggesting: a NON-PARTISIAN article where each party can explain what there all about, one big old article where the top 10 or 15 parties or HOWEVER MANY can explain what there all about in plain language and leave it up to the individual user, because at the end of the day a happy eAmerican, is an active eAmerican.

Like I said, it’s high school all over again. If you don’t find the right group of friends early you’re effing screwed man. So I ask you again to take yourself back to that first day of your freshman year of high school at lunch time, do you remember not knowing where to sit? You remember wondering where you’d fit in, who your friends would be? Yeah, us newbies know that feeling pretty well.
