Why Mongress? Why?

Since my last article a week ago, a lot has happened in congress, for instance:

You've probably already heard that Aleks V. Popovic was elected as speaker...and was a complete flop. First Aleks decided to make a PM to replace Rob's original temporary one, this achieved little but he did decide to leave out about 90% of the other Congress members, and add in Malkaiser. Aleks then proceeded to create several more Congressional Pms just to confuse everyone. Some time passed and not much got done, although Madelina thought of a really good new set of immigration rules. Eventually people got cross with Aleks and he decided to resign, it all went a bit wrong for poor Aleks but atleast we'll have Zaphod as our new speaker!

On to the recent proposals and their backgrounds...

The day after my last one of these articles the German President proposed an MPP with us. This is what Wook had to say on the matter: "Germany have proposed the renewed MPP with us as discussed briefly at the end of last Congress term.

We had let it expire previously after the Swedish war ended, but they give us great support and damage, so it was proposed we sign the MPP again." So the Germans would be good to have on our side if we wanted to enter Scandinavia again. Whilst Germany aren't a core ally, it's still a good idea to renew this MPP. It was passed anyway, with 32 voting yes and just one voting no.

We then continued to debate on the food prices thing, the speaker elections and then the next day Tyler Bubblar, CP of the USA proposed another MPP with us. Wookie then said that this would be another good proposal for us:
"Indeed.

A pretty straight forward one in my eyes. The USA have provided some very crucial damage for us recently and have even assisted in getting us out of a wipe.

Being in a different time zone is also a good advantage to having the Yanks on our side."
All hail Wook!
So the USA MPP was another landslide approval, with 36 voting yes and one confused Congress member voting no.

Two days later, after Rob was told to take a leak:

WookieO proposed another MPP, this time with Estonia. This is what Wook had to say about it: "Estonia have been in touch again.

Finland have just proposed a Natural Enemy law against them and they would like us to sign a MPP again. It would mean more allied battles for us and a chance to stick it to Asgard once more.

I'll let you have a chat about it anyway..." I had to agree with him that this would be a good chance to have a go at Asgard again. It also ties up nicely with our MPP with Germany. This was again passed easily with 33 voting yes and just two voting no.

Finally we have a fourth MPP, this time proposed with the CP of Croatia, unfortunately I don't have any of Wook's wise words to add to this as there were about 200 different PMs going on at this time. Anyway this was a sensible move as Croatia are one of our core allies, being in Sirius. The vote was passed, although only 28 Congress members voted, all of them voting yes.

Hopefully Zaphod'll sort mongress out...
